I love this bag. Just used this on a 6 night trip on a cruise. This bag held 2 pair evening sandals, a pair of water shoes, 2 pair of shorts, 3 tops, (plus I was wearing capris and a top), bathing suit cover up, 6 evening tops (only wore 5), 2 evening pants, underclothes, toiletries, a pair of pajamas, plastic poncho, jewelry, passport, wallet, night light and book light. I secured on the outside, in a small pouch my bathing suit and attached an umbrella. Rolling the clothing made everything fit and no bulging! It stood without tipping and wheeled easily over all concrete and carpeted surfaces and up and down escalators. I'm ready to pack for my next trip!
I purchased this travel bag for use as a personal item in Spirit airlines. I am so glad I did! It fit the dimensions that Spirit allows, no problem. It fit under the seat also no problem. I sat in an aisle seat and a window seat and I was able to navigate it just fine. As for the actual bag it is quite roomy. I fit five outfits, under clothes and pajamas but no room for shoes. It has a snap out thing for toiletries that I love and is totally convenient. It also has two side pockets that I was able to fit a tablet and cell phone chargers. The way the flap zips over in the front allows for easy access too. Wheels and handle are nice also. I totally recommend this bag for quick trips and the purpose for travel on Spirit. Next I will purchase one for my daughter to travel with.
I had to recently had to purchase a few suitecases for my trip to Atlanta and I was flying on spirit airlines and they charge for everything but they do have a policy that you can have one personal bag but they have to meet certain dimensions 16×14×12 this was perfect for meeting their guidlines
Bought this to fit under seat on a Frontier flight. Fit perfectly. Was able to fit a weekend worth of clothes, extra shoes, toiletries and reading materials. As another reviewer wrote, be careful with the zippers. They work well, but can get caught on the underneath material.
Though it is somewhat larger than hoped for, I am thinking it will barely fit under the United seat ahead of mine, next time I fly to Europe. I believe I will have to place the op of it under the seat, ahead, first, for it to fit. It may not fit under the smaller European countries' aircrafts small seat heights. That has yet to be sought. The dimensions listed was the same as my Atlantic Prime (Collection) Soft Tote, but the Protege has a harder touch, all around, except on top, and at the side. I am pleased with the compartments, as described on the website...it is true to its items and pictures. The purple color is not as "bright" as pictured, but a little darker, but still purple...not dark as an "eggplant". I choose this to resemble my Atlantic, as it was much cheaper than the Atlantic Wheeled Scoping Tote. The Push-Button Telescopic Handle appears to be as sturdy as the ones in my Delsey 21"and 25" luggage. There is a zipped cover over the this handle which is a nice added feature. The tabs for the zippers are a good shape, length, and feel to grab for zipping, which is important for my arthritis. The hardware that encloses the "teeth" of the sipper appears as if it may not stand up to rugged shipment, but otherwise, they all zip smoothly, as if gliding. Also, the sides' zippered areas are nice for other than larger items like a water bottle/umbrella...for smaller items, or something you care to have covered. When the two handles are coupled together and wrapped with the velcro loop, it is at a comfortable height, not too snug towards the top of the bag. It would be nice if the velcro loop were wider, though...just for my liking. It is light weight, to me, considering the heavier outer/inner core, as it is more like a suitcase, to me, than a shoulder tote. The lining seems to be of quality material, not thin...it is grayish blue (yes, with a purple shell). The hardware appears to be of solid state screws-like, with a smooth look, like wristwatch batteries. The wheels also seem to be solid and sturdy. The outer shell's material is soft, and not a "scratchy" nylon. This Protege is built much sturdier and appears of better quality than my large Protege 29" checked luggage size, though it held up well on a domestic flight. This under the seat item has yet to be tested on any airline, so I hope this info has been helpful, though it has not been tested.
I used it for a trip to San Fco. as a carry on, good quality and more roomy than other bags, only thing have to be careful with zippers on sides , could get stuck with the other plastic side of zipper, but still happy about this purchase.
As of April 4, 2017, Spirit Airlines changed their personal item dimensions to 18 x 4 x 8. The dimensions for this bag aren't listen anywhere on this page, but for the record they are 16 x 13.5 x 8 ... Hope that helps!
from quite a long time i was looking out for this luggage, it really worth it.due to some reason it was delayed, but Walmart were apologetic and also rewarded me with a gift card. The quality is good . i really appreciate Walmart for their good services, I hope they maintain their status and come up with good products in future too. Thank you Walmart.
In the past, Protege has shown me to be poorly made pieces of luggage not worth buying unless one has no other option. Well... not so fast. To my immense surprise, this Protege 16" Under-The-Seat Luggage is a winner; and I mean it ! >> The Design -- I place it next to me at a Library Computer Station and I have access to all I need for my writing just one zipper away. I even have room for my lunch and my umbrella. Outside pockets on both sides and another upfront are all I need to carry unrelated items. >> The Construction -- I am not an expert, but this luggage is well made; and the materials used appear to be good quality. For instance, the straps truly impressed me as well as all the zippers. >> The Deal -- The Protege 16" Under-The-Seat Luggage is a heck of a good deal at well under $40.00 - Unfortunately, in the best Wal-Mart tradition, once they are sold out, it may take a decade or two for a few of them to show up on the shelves or online. Give it a shot to find one. If you do, I doubt that you will regret to get yourself one. Good Luck !
The pull handle is difficult to pull out. It won't smoothly work. has to keep at it to make it work. the luggage came in 6 days, was suppose to be 2-day shipping.
