The same stand was 30 dls more at the music store
Product has everything wrapped up in one bundle: quality, value, and versatility.
It's working great for our daughter. She can sing and play her keyboard and it is sturdy for the price.
Good for most applications. You will likely have trouble with heavier microphones. The “hardware” has many hard plastic components.
For the price this well worth it..
This stand is fine for light duty / home studio use. It's a bit light compared to higher priced stands but it's perfectly adequate. Note the microphone clip is okay for wired microphones but may be too small for most wireless mics.
This mic stand is a great basic stand and is probably best suited for someone who has light microphones and needs a lot of stands cheap. Pros - cheap, holds mic straight up, easy to use, thin and easy to store Cons - cannot hold a condenser mic, boom tends to sag from the weight of the mic even when tightened all the way, loosens easy in a lot of the joints, only good for standing mic stand straight up
I do not recommend this. The boom arm will not stay up and you will need to get some wire (perhaps from an old clothes hanger) to wrap around it to make it stay put. I even tried tightening the bolt with a rubber jar gripper...but to no avail. I cannot get it tight enough to hold the boom arm in the position I need it to sing and play the piano. AND put a weight or sand bag at the bottom to keep it from falling over. (I prefer a boom mic stand behind my keyboard piano. My piano is next to a wall and doesn't have enough space to position the tripod legs appropriately so I need to use a weight for that reason). So it you don't mind making those adjustments with wire and possible a weight...go for it. I give it 2 stars since it does fine with the adjustments. The other adjustable parts and mic holder are in fine working order.
I have never had any problems with any packages I get from Walmart.com but this microphone stand was a bummer. It clearly shows a piece on the end of the stand where it holds the microphone and that piece was not included. So I am either going to get a refund or have to buy that piece, which was why I wanted to buy this particular stand in the first place.
1. it is not sturdy. 2. the boom arm can't take the weight of a heavy mic and a puff filter. you will have to keep the boom arm at the least 60 % cloase to the mid section of the stand. 3. the screws/holding sections at every part never tighten well enough to keep the stand sturdy. once you align it dont move it. the parts just colapse at the joints and you have to readjust.
