I have a 2010 Camaro SS 6.2 V8. I've always used Valvoline or Mobil 1 and the car ran great with either oil. Recently I decided to give Pennzoil Platinum a try. I didn't think I'd notice a difference but wow.... The engine sounds much quieter and the upper ticking noise I had during cold start is hardly noticeable. Definitely using Pennzoil from now on.
I bought my car in Feb 2014. It had very low miles but I immediately took it to have the oil changed to Penzoil Platinum Full Synthetic. I wanted to keep my engine. clean and this is the one I chose after doing my research. I am so glad I chose it because it is now 19 years later and not one issue with my engine and I have 74,741 miles for 10 years of ownership. Low miles but no issues I recommend this oil to everyone who cares about their vehicles engine.
I never write reviews unless i really stick by it. I have used many different brands of top name synthetic oils. I like doing research to see what the top synthetic oils are out there and how they perform. When I found out how this competes to the top names i had to try it. I just changed my oil a week ago and have seen a big improvement in the sound of the engine. Cold starting my engine in 10 to 15 degree weather and the first thing i noticed is the reduced noise in the lifters and pistons. My truck has 165000 miles so to me that's saying something. The engine runs so much nicer even when very cold and i am very surprised. The testing i have watch really shows and and its now my go to oil going forward. The 5 quart jugs are nice and i like the price and the ease to find where to buy. I highly recommend this oil!
I used to buy quaker state but when i did a teardown and rebuild of my dodge ram engine i found a lot of oil sludge at the bottom a friend suggested Pennzoil which I tried and when I re did my engine there was no sludge the journeys and components were completely scoured clean and there was zero wear on bearings and pistons I'm amazed Now I only use Pennzoil in all my gasoline and diesel engines
I use Pennzoil Platinum 0W-20 in my 2014 Chevrolet Malibu 2.5L. I personally love the science behind the oil, like it being created from natural gas and that Pennzoil offsets 100% of the carbon emissions from creating the oil. Keep it up Pennzoil/Shell. I love your products, whether it's oil or gasoline. Just make sure you shake the oil VERY well before putting it in your car because the additive package falls to the bottom of the container after a while, and obviously you want that going in the car. It'll look like a sandy type material on the bottom of the container. *Quick note to consumers, ensure your oil filters bypass PSI for the bypass valve is correct for your particular engine. Mobil told me their filters were compatible with my car, but after some research it turned out that was completely wrong and GM specifically says that it is not because Mobil has PSI of 12-15 and GM says my engine requires a bypass PSI of 22. Don't trust all manufacturers to know what they are talking about.
I find this product truly superior to other synthetic products. my car has a sensors which tell me when to change oil and I have found after using this oil for years now that I get many more miles between changes. Even when I drain my oil it looks much less dark and I also have seen a small increase in gas milage too!!!!
Been using this motor oil for my last 4 oil changes. Very impressed by the smoothness of my motor and dosen't burn-off or stink after a couple thousand miles like some top-end comparator oils. If it's good for the 7.6L Twin Turbo V8 of the Venom F5, it's good enough for me!
My daughter was having issues with her BMW, so we checked out the website for Pennzoil: 'Oils formulated with PurePlus Technology consistently have lower viscosity at low temperatures (-13 degree Fahrenheit to - 40 degree Fahrenheit), so the engine requires less effort to pump the oil at temperatures Better viscosity control is achieved even under severe oxidative test conditions compared with using other API Group II and III base oils Drive on average an extra 550 miles per year Helps protect engines from loss of power Provides faster low temperature oil flow and protects in extreme heat; Certification: SN" We changed the 10W40 from the Beemer and added the Pennzoil 5W40 and that seemed to do the trick. I believe the oil she was using had a viscosity level that was too high.
The oil is exactly what my vehicle specifies. The price, while a bit higher than I would have liked to pay, was still acceptable. The delivery? A NIGHTMARE... Apparently, one of the two six quart boxes (packed together in another bigger box) was damaged in transit some way. This meant a delay while a replacement was acquired. When the oil was delevered, one six quart box was fine, while the other, again sharing space inside a bigger box, was inside a plastic bag with about an inch of oil in the bag. All of those quarts were covered in oil, requiring cleaning before they could be unpacked. Upon unpacking, I found one bottle down by about three ounces (holding 29 ounces, not 32). I attempted to contact whomever was responsible, and got nowhere. Very disappointing for what has usually been a simple order and delivery...
First 5 bottles that was resent was fine all standing and package was well The last one I received yesterday was solo and had cap spill and it sucks Belcause my first order was all leaking I had I direct throw away those 6 bottles. Now I’m still on delay getting my car serviced
