I was bought a mess but was optimistic that paint would work wonders in my renovations. I inherited a series of hideous cartoon murals that needed to go. Worry set in when it bleed through 3 coats of overpriced paint, panic set in when it bleed through 2 coats of another big name stain blocker but relief set in after one coat of kilz. After the first primer failed, I learned the owners used industrial auto paint. I was brainstorming ways to use drywall putty to cover it up when I walked past a can of Kilz at Home Depot. When me and my fiancé got our home it's old time charm had won us over. Once we got into working on our home we noticed the dingy yellow stained and lead painted walls were gonna need some TLC. So when we looked for a paint we wanted something that would cover everything and leave a nice flat look. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We did several projects with Kilz over the last 40 years. These projects still have complete coverage and never bled thhrough whether. We had fire damage and it covered both stain and smoke smell. We had ceiling damage from a roof leak and it covered the stain and never bled back through we never fonished that project. I am sending a picture of it. We had a room painted pirple then covered the room with Kilz and another paint color and the purple still has not bled through
I am thrilled to have come across this primer amd paint in one! First, I love the Toasted Poppyseed color. Second, it did a fantastic job at upgrading my 1990s fireplace in the house we just purchased. It was a MUCH need improvement. The paint adhered beautifully to the tile. Then I saw I had a lot of paint left and I realized that it was meant for interior AND exterior applications! Woo hoo! Our porch railings had not been painted in 8 Years....and after I pressure washed them in preparation I found I had peeled a lot of the old paint off and was looking at bare wood. After asking a friend about her painting experience I bought Kilz complete coat flat and was so pleased with the results of the best looking pantry when I was finished with painting them.
Needed to change the wall colors in my new home urgently... tried other brands of paint and they were terrible!! Love, love, love this paint!! Love the price, the lack of odor, ease of use and coverage... only needed one coat in some rooms and max of two in other rooms where the paint was really dark. I love the overall look and now feel my home is a lovely relaxing peaceful haven where I'm no longer ashamed to invite friends over! Would definitely recommend this paint (and the satin one too).
