I love the limitless possibilities to automate things outside of my house with this accessory. Truly a must have for those who want a smart yard too:) the set up was supper easy, choosing what you want it connect to is the hard part so go ahead and get a few so you don't have to decide. I love the Z-Wave Plus Outdoor Wireless Smart Lighting. It was very easy to get started using it. I'm not the greatest with these kind of things but I was able to hook it up! My yard is dark so I love that I can have it come on when I want. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This smart outdoor light control works amazing. Right now I have it hooked to my large outdoor light. When someone comes after dark I just tell Alexa to turn the outdoor light on. So many uses for this smart control outdoors. It's waterproof and well constructed to last for years out in the elements. I can see a couple more of these in my future. It was easy to set up and all the instructions are very easy to read and follow. Well made for outdoor use. With-standed the cold winter just fine and still working in spring. I had purchased other brands that would not last one season outdoors. Easy to setup. One thing - the small button to manually tune on/off is hard to work at first, then it wears in for easier operation.
I have used the wifi plugs which work directly with an app without an app and have also used a wink hub. I have always found the Wink hub stuff to be faster with more stable connection. This one follows suite and pairs easily and responds as quickly as any other devices on the network. The added advantage being I am not worried about the elements as much as I would be if I were using a regular fitting.I have this installed in my patio[with some protection in the form of a canopy of top to ensure rainwater doesnt fall on it directly. This was easy to set up and the instructions were easy to follow along with.. It looks good and is nice and sleek, so you really don't even notice it. If you do, it just looks like a nice black unit. It is also weather-resistant so I feel good about it being outside against the elements. I like that I am now able to control my outside lighting with my phone! I didn't realize I needed a hub when I got it so we never put it to use. It's one of those things when you keep thinking you'll pick one up but never do. I'm bummed because I love the concept, especially for holiday lighting, but after about a year I need to accept that I'm never going to put it to use.
