The yellow paint immediately started chipping off the bottom when I used the tool for what I purchased it for, to align a 3 piece pool table slate. It would have been a better tool if it were never painted on the sides. I didn't abuse it as it was lightly used in my living room and just for this single purpose. But it got the job done, and that's what was important.
