This thing works a charm! I have tried indoor antennas before, but none were able to bring in the Nashville, TN, broadcast stations over the many hills and valleys between us and the towers. I designed my own way to mount it in the upstairs loft -- no holes drilled through walls or roof! The result is a broader selection of channels than we'll ever watch! I left myself some play in the pole mount so I can aim the antenna as needed. I don't have to subscribe to cable or live TV streaming to watch NFL football on local stations! All for only the cost of the antenna itself. And I think it looks cool in the loft.
FYI: I'm a 70-year-old geezer wanting to cut the cable and still enjoy watching TV ... especially FREE TV. So, I did a fair amount of research and ended up purchasing the Clearstream 4Max Antenna Reflector Kit at the same time as the Clearstream 4Max UHF VHF Indoor/Outdoor HDTV Antenna. The antenna and reflector are both lightweight but seem sturdy. Assembly was quick and easy following the straightforward, uncomplicated instructions. After assembly I set up the antenna (with the reflector attached) outside on a temporary 10-foot pole pointing in the direction where a cluster of 4 towers approximately 25 miles away are located and connected the coaxial cable (sold separately) to my TV just to see what I could get. I was amazed! Right out of the box I picked up 271 channels from towers a full 360 degrees around my antenna, many over 70 miles away and in the opposite direction. Considering that during the temporary "test" setup 6 of the 11 towers within 70 miles were obstructed by my house, I would give the Clearstream 4Max UHF VHF Indoor/Outdoor HDTV Antenna, combined with the Clearstream 4Max Antenna Reflector Kit a solid 2 thumbs UP. I expect even better results after I mount it permanently about 15 feet higher. I'm so glad I followed the advice of the experts when I purchased these products AND set them up OUTDOORS. And I reeeeealy like the fact that I'll be saving over $100 a month while still getting over 270 OTA channels PLUS all the FREE streaming broadcasts available with my newly purchased streaming device. BTW ... That "thumping" sound you hear is me kicking my butt for not doing this sooner! I HIGHLY RECCOMEND THESE 2 PRODUCTS.
Amazing from start to finish Your rep Alex was great and provided general and specific information that made it easy to make my decision. I usually shop around, but it was not necessary. The assembly and installation was easy. I was able to receive over 60 local channels with great reception and we live in a densely forested area. Cut the cable cord and now we are saving over $160 a month.
I have purchased a few of these to install for customers. Easy install. Quality product. I need a good product that works like it should and I can put my business name behind. This antenna checks all the boxes. It is a bit expensive, but you pay for what you get in the low voltage business.
Breaking away from my ever increasing cable bill. This is the antenna that Antennas Direct reccomended for my location. They were dead on target. Installed it on a 20 ft. pole outside and getting 48 crystal clear stations. Better picture quality than cable.
Nice antenna in a smaller form factor for a tight attic install. Well made. Perfect for our application! If you are mounting in an attic, you will want to go ahead and get the kit with the mast. I paired this antenna with a CM-7779HD amplifier due to a 50+ foot cable run. With proper alignment to line-of-site (non edge [no hills]) towers that are 40 miles from us, we get ABC, NBC, FOX, PBS, CW, and their sub-channels (36 channels total) with no amplifier at 80% signal strength and 100% signal quality (as reported on our LG TV). Picture is perfect and better than the rebroadcasted signals through cable provider. With the amplifier in use, we get 97%+ signal strength and 100% quality on all channels. All of our channels broadcast on UHF here in SW FL, so I can't comment on the effectiveness of VHF reception of this antenna. If your local channels are broadcasting on VHF (RF channels 2 through 13), you will want to really research that aspect. I suspect that no-edge VHF reception within 20 or so miles would be pretty good. For UHF, however, this antenna does a stellar job! I even experimented with out-of-market UHF stations at 63 miles and was able to pick many of those up, but with some break-up on picture quality. So, that's the data on UHF reception in our non-edge area. Buy with confidence. This is really a good UHF antenna!
I purchased this antenna to replace one that was not performing as advertised, so I was ready for another failure. Much to my surprise, this antenna was easy to assemble and install. Once on the roof, my TV was able to find an additional 10 local channels that the previous "omni-directional, 65 mile range" antenna couldn't. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Installation in my indoor attic space was smooth. Very excited to be able to get quality reception from most stations. My only struggle so far has been in trying to get good reception for CBS from NYC. All the other major stations come in clearly so it must me the transmission and not the antenna.
Disappointed that paid for a new antenna and received what appears to be a used antenna. Luckily chose Walmart so I can return.
I thought I was buying a new antenna, not some refurbished stuff. Nowhere on the site did it say it was going to be a refurbished garage sale grade product. If I knew this I would have bought from the manufacturer. The antenna was shipped in a table salt box. The parts are just in a bag with no bubble wrap or paper, Just clank clank clank.. No instructions on how to put it together. There is a paper in the box saying I bought it from ebay which I didn't buy it from. Also the box was dented and wrapped in black plastic like I was buying adult toys or whatever. I'm going to try to get a refund, this is messed up
