I love this machine

I have had this machine for at least 4 years, and I use it every day. Yes, it does squeak a little, like another reviewer said, but I guess I tune it out. I watch tv while I am using it, and time just flies by. I like the fact that it has the computer screen, so I can monitor my time and distance, and I love that it's a whole body work out. The pulse monitor is cool, too. I have recommended this machine to several people. When it breaks, I am getting a new one. I love it.

This is an excellent product for it's target group. This is not a product for people who are used to moderate-heavy exercise or for runners/athletes. DON'T buy if you are in excellent shape and want a change in work out, you will have to work out forever just to break a sweat. DO buy it however, if you are older, new to exercising, have COPD, have knee problems, foot problems, or just want good Range-of-motion for your hips and arms. I am 37 and run a few times a week and it isn't a challenge for me. My husband is 55 and has a semi-sedentary job where he is on his aching feet all day and it is a perfect workout for him, (gets him to a sweat). I want to get one for my mom who is 63, has asthma and cannot get outside to walk in excessive heat/cold. Mine is well made, fairly simple to put together if you READ the directions and can hold a lot of weight. I agree that the counter gadget thingy is cheap but not really necessary anyway, although does work with fresh batteries.

I read many reviews positive and negative about the Gazelle's from several different sites before purchasing it. I am so glad that the negative didn't influence me not to buy one. I highly recommend this Gazelle Freestyle specially to those that are dealing with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, back and neck problems like myself. It's very easy to use, and very fun. I have owned in the past many different types of equipments like so many and didn't continue with them, but I can tell this is different I look forward to using it. As far as putting it together there isn't that much to put together and the directions are easy to follow. The machine didn't take up nearly the amount of room it appeared others posted, so I am glad for that. I have noticed already a difference in my body, better movement and less pain, and in time I hope less body fat.

I purchased this product online last week. I chose to have it shipped site to store for free. I was surprised when it arrived more than 1 week early! The only issue I had with assembly was that the directions were not very clear when it came to the position of the foot pedals in one of the first steps. Make sure you compare the diagram on the assembly instructions when completing the first step, or you will have to take everything apart, correct the issue, then put it all back together. Another tip-make sure you lubricate the cross bar. It comes lubricated, but most of it comes off during shipping. I am in pretty good shape but after completing the exercises outlined in the dvd I really felt "the burn", I was even a little sore the next day. As far as a cardio workout goes, it was okay. If you are looking for the type of cardio a treadmill provides, this may not be for you, as you can only move so fast without tipping the thing over. If, however, you are looking for an easy way to tone up with light to medium cardio, this product is an excellent match.

I Use It Everyday!

Okay, I am sooooo NOT the exercise type. I haven't done it since 10th grade and I failed gym b/c I never went! I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes two months ago and started a new diet and exercise program the very next day. I was 291 lbs and this was the only product, within a reasonable price range, that the weight limit was 300 lbs. Everything I looked at had a capacity of 250 lbs. I read EVERY SINGLE product review and only found a few negative comments out of a few thousand. I use it almost every day. It is definitely a cardio workout! I am at 268 lbs now and I have much more energy. Why it only got 4 stars: I only use the computer mount to time my workouts, everything else is mediocre. It does squeak, but I just WD40 the moving parts and we're back to a quiet workout. And last, the instructions on putting it together are not on the DVD, but really, it doesn't take a rocket scientist! I was on it in an hour and WELL WORTH THE PRICE!

I was very impressed with the stability of the machine, I am 288lbs 6 ft tall, and worried about what limitations I would have on this but there is none. I can lean foward in a running motion and it holds me just fine. There's no jolting to the joints which is great on the ankles and knee's. It weighs a bit so when your moving it make sure you have your shoes on.LOL The only complaint I have, is the thumb pulse on mine does not work. I small complaint and not worth returning. I am pleased with it otherwise,.

I was very excited to purchase this product. I found it on-line while looking at elipticals. I picked this particular machine instead because of the distance counter (which never worked on my machine once I got it assembled). I read all the reviews before purchasing and it seemed promising, although I had my doubts. It took about 1hr 15min to assemble, but that's because I had to take it apart because we put it together wrong the first time (the illustrations aren't that helpful). My first work out, I could hardly stay balanced, but I figured it was inexperience with the machine. After a week of using it, I noticed my feet always seemed to shift toward the back & felt like they were going to come off the machine (I always had to stop or slow down & readjust my footing). The machine was never really comfortable to me--I previously used a commercial elliptical at a local gym and I loved it. This machine was harder on my knees and always felt like my legs had to remain stiff. I returned it to Walmart two weeks later and they gave me a full refund. I think I will invest in a nice elliptical, but I am definetly going to try it before I buy it.

Not Worth the Money

I bought this machine last March, and sold it for $40 three months later. My feet were always sliding around on the pedals (it even says in the owner's manual that your feet will shift), and the majority of my weight was on the balls of my feet, so they'd get sore after about 10 min of exercise. The machine was VERY noisy, and developed a loud squeak after two weeks of use. I don't know why there are so many positive reviews on this website (maybe the dissatisfied users don't bother to review it?), but this is fair warning to anyone who's considering this product. NOT WORTH IT.

DO NOT BUY!!!!!

I bought this Gazelle Freestyle after months of reading great reviews about. Many people claimed that they lost weight with it and felt like they had a great workout. I did have the same experience. Though the machine was very easy to assemble, the time put into it is NOT WORTH IT!!! I have been using this machine for one hour everyday five days a week and have not lost a single pound! I do not do any other workouts and I watch what I eat but I am just not seeing any results at all with this thing! Also, the "computer" has just decided to stop working and the machine constantly squeaks very loudly every time I use it. Sometimes I even have to turn my t.v. volume up to 60! On top of that, I believe that I was sent a used product because the machine I received had many scratches all over it. Overall, extremely dissatisfied and I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE!!!! >:(
