We are using this for our stairs to keep our dog from going up. Works well and looks nice.
This baby gate has worked great ever since we received it! It was easy to put together, you can screw it in the door frame or just use the tension feature. We love that it has a “door stop” on the bottom. That way if you are going in and out through the gate you do not have to keep releasing the latch. Also it looks great versus the typical wood and plastic gate. Overall we have been very happy! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
With 2 young children and 4 dogs, a gate is a must for the safety of all. The Evenflo Multi-Use Décor Tall Walk-Thru Gate is an amazing product. It looks stylish in my house and keeps everyone out of my office. I love that it is tall enough so that my older daughter cannot open it. In order to open this gate, you have to slide the button and then lift up and push the gate. This is a great feature if you have kids (or dogs) that have previously learned to open gates by just pushing or pulling them hard enough. So far my kids (and incredibly smart huskies) have not figured out how to open it. Another awesome feature of this gate is the small latch on the bottom to the gate which restricts which way the gate can be opened. I imagine this would be particularly helpful if the gate was at the top of the stairs and you only want it to open one way. I found it helpful as a second precaution to keep my children and animals from trying to push it open. They can't push it if it only opens one way. As for ease of use, this gate is a breeze to use. It comes with two extender panels to fit a space up to 48” and also comes with the pressure mounts and brackets (for staircase use). It took me about 5 minutes to take it out the box and set it up. The gate's open and close mechanism is intuitive for adults and works perfectly. This is the best gate I have ever used and would recommend to all friends and family with children or pets. I recently had the opportunity to try out the Evenflo Multi-Use Tall Decor Gate. This gate looks great in our house. The black color blends well with a railing that was already installed. Perfect for our dogs and 2 year old. Love the bumpers on the bottom of gate to keep it from closing and locking when needed. Nice looking and sturdy. Easy to set up.
Does it hold up well? No. I've gone through 5 in 2 years. Some of which were replaced by mail by the evenflo under warranty. This last one lasted 11 months. Is it worth it to not yell at the older kids about shutting the gate ALL THE TIME. Yes.
We recently got this gate because I wanted something I could easily open to let my toddler down the stairs and into his play room but keep the pets out and the baby safe from the stairs. I installed it by myself in just a few minutes, it's so easy to open and close. I love that it can swing both ways or the stopper on the bottom prevents it from swinging whatever direction you don't want. It's a fairly pretty gate so it doesn't look awful in my house. I love that it has 2 extenders so I can fit it in our larger doors if I needed. My only complaint is that sometimes the button on top sticks and I have to wiggle it a touch to get it to fully latch or unlatch. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We tried to install this gate in an open hallway with trim on the bottom, we could not get it installed. Ordered the wall nanny thinking that would solve the problem and it still would not close/lock. Really nice gate, just wish it would have worked for us!
Gate arrived broken and unusable.
I have had to buy this gate 3 times and am now having to find a 4th. We put these at the top and bottom of our stairs. A few months ago I had to replace the bottom of the stairs set because the gate broke off at the plastic hinge. Just tonight the top stairs one broke at the same exact place. I bought to keep my family safe, but instead it has left us in a dangerous situation. Now, I will be looking for a better kind of replacement.
