Love my powerful little dryer! It's perfectly small! Fits nicely in my kitchenette. I have dried 4 jeans of different sizes in 30 minutes. Its not as small as I thought, it's totally practical and efficient. I've never reviewed anything, but Im so impressed and happy to not have to leave my tiny apartment with my two children for laundry, that I have to share the good news! If this is something you need, buy it! You will not regret it.
I live in a small apartment and this dryer is perfect. I thought I would have to dry 2 pieces at a time and it would take forever to dry or the dryer would never get hot but I was wrong on all accounts. It get nice and hot and works great. I've already patted myself on the back for making this perfect purchase.
I purchased this dryer as a combo(washer/dryer deal) to use with the portable washer and I was really surprised at how fast it dries. I washed queen size sheets/2 shams/2 pillow cases and a few dish towels and they were dry in less than 25 minutes. Today I washed a queen size comforter and it was dry in less than 30. The inside that holds the laundry is small so keep that in mind if you plan to wash large loads you will need to separate them to get an efficient dry. There are a few drawbacks but not enough for me to rate down. First I live in a small apartment and the vent kit was just not sufficient enough for me so I ordered an indoor kit and it worked perfectly. Also the lint trap which you should clean after each use is kind of a pain. I have pets and after each dry I have to actually use a pet lint roller to clean the trap so that is more money spent to get a good use of the product. Overall great purchase (especially with the washer combo) and great dryer~!
I just bought an old house and discovered too late after moving in a standard size electric dryer that the outlet I had was a standard NEMA 5-15 outlet. It was not an option to have the house rewired just to support a dryer so this portable outlet was the perfect alternative. It is actually sitting atop the dryer that I cannot use. I have read other buyers' complaints about the lint screen and though it is a little inconvenient, it's no big deal. I am concerned that the screen is too delicate to last years but one buyer replaced it with hosiery which seems like a good band-aid. In regard to the drying times - I had realistic expectations of this appliance and found nothing to complain about, even when a finding some items slightly still damp at thicker seams. I am hoping it will last for a long time because right now it's a great, little machine.
This is a great dryer and I love the fact I don't have to go to the laundromat anymore. I have a small apartment and this works for me. Only had it for 1 week but can say I'm very happy with it. I got a cart to put it on because all the buttons are on the bottom and didn't want to put on the wall. The cart I put it on is on wheels so you can move it and the wheels lock. I all so got the indoor venting unit. That works great. Love it.
Okay, it doesn't dry as fast as a regular sized dryer, but you knew that. Right? I'm telling you, for small loads, this thing is great! Highly recommended for single persons living in an apartment. The site to store people at Walmart were really friendly. One dude even helped me load the dryer into my truck! I'm not sure what more I could ask for at this price point. The lint filter is a bit odd, but if you are patient and keep it clean, you will have no worries. Set this baby on auto dry and relax while it dries. Rejoice; you are no longer hauling your clothes to that filthy, expensive Laundromat. This dryer will pay for itself in no time.
I got this dryer about 1 1/2 weeks ago. It's a perfect size for loads with the 1.0 cu/ft washer. It does get the clothes dry if you don't overload it (like any other dryer) and it holds more than I thought it would. It can hold about 3 large towels, 4 hand towels and about 4-5 wash cloths. Or 4 full scrub uniforms, which take about the same amount of time to dry in regular dryer. Nice!! It takes a little longer to dry towels than full size dryers but it's so worth it to not have to go out to do laundry. It's not noisy either. There was really no installation - just put it where you want it and plug it in. The controls are on the bottom of the unit so I have it on a shelf in a closet for easy access right now. It doesn't get near as hot as regular dryers so I don't have it vented outside at the moment. I'm still deciding if it's really necessary. I just leave the closet door open and it's fine, not as bad as I thought it would be drying clothes with the 98+ degree weather we're having now in Louisiana. There are vent kits available for these particular dryers. The Clean Lint light comes on when it needs to be cleaned. Sometimes it will come on in the middle of a cycle, so I clean the lint filter often, especially when drying towels. The lint trap is on the inside of the drum in the back and easy to remove and clean. There is also another stationary lint trap in the front behind the door held by 2 screws, also easy to get to for cleaning. It worked right out of the box, but the Cycle and Temp buttons didn't work. It only worked on the default which is Normal; however, the buttons weren't as easy to operate as the washer - I had to push harder on them than I expected. (There are no problems with the washer at all. It's fantastic! I have a separate review for the washer.) I called the 800 # at Haier on Sunday and received excellent customer service. The dryer control panel needed to be replaced. The part was ordered by their local service contractor on Monday. I received an email from Haier the following Saturday saying that the replacement part was delivered to the local service contractor. They came out today (Wednesday) to replace it - parts and labor free of charge because it's under warranty. The new panel works like it's supposed to. The buttons are really easy to push like the washer. Yay! Overall, I am very satisfied. I gave 4 stars because of the control panel only being semi-functional right out of the box; however, it is great little dryer - gets the job done. I give Haier customer service and their local service contractor 5 stars because the problem was fixed in less than 2 weeks and they were all very courteous and professional. I highly recommend these little washers and dryers for anyone who lives in an apartment with no washer/dryer hookups and doesn't want the hassle of dealing with community laundry rooms or laundromats. Also, you may be interested to know that there are websites with all kinds of replacement parts available for these particular washers and dryers at reasonable prices.
I have a teeny tiny kitchen with very limited space, so this dryer is just what I needed. It came two days after I purchased it on line. It was in excellent condition, and light enough, I could move it by myself. A friend came over and helped me to mount it to the wall. It was a little bit of a challenge because I have block walls and he had to drill with a masonary bit first and put anchors in there. It's rock solid and no chance it will fall down. I already had a vent to the outside, so I just hooked up to it and there was no problem with that. The dryer is small, and not as hot as the full size models, but I have a line outside and only use it as a back up. It works great when I need it, on those rainy days, etc. I love it for it's size and so grateful to have it hanging above the little Haier washing machine I purchased the month before. If you're short on space and tight on your budget, you can't beat it!!
The dryer is good for small to medium loads, it takes about 2 hours to dry a big load, it works great for an apartment or very small house, it just needs places to grab a hold of it so you can move it if needed, if I wanted a dryer to put in one place I would get one bigger, I bought the washer/dryer combination and so far very pleased with their performance, just wish they were easier to move around, also bought an indoor vent so it will not have to be vented outside
The dryer doesn't work as I thought it would. It pushes cool air. When a guy came to check it out he stated that's howit works. It takes two hourscto dryer a real small amout of clothes. I have thevportable washing machine as well and after washing my clothes i have to seperate the clothes in two portions to dry..
