I love this. Slept on one at my sons home and my back was better. I bought one for my bed and it works, my back is so much better and my husband also says he does not get up as much. we love it but have only used it for about 2/3 weeks but we have seen a difference.
I am currently a Pilot in the Army serving in Iraq. I was having trouble sleeping on the very firm beds that they issue here and I need my crew rest. I ordered this Topper and it showed up in 3 or 4 days. Really fast! The Topper is very comfortable compared to a expensive Memory foam bed I have at home. Now, I sleep like a baby every night. The product claims 1.5" but, its more like 2". Its really thick and I cannot feel the bed underneath in any way. Great Product. Hope this helps.
My guest room mattress was really lumpy, and I could not afford a new one, so I bought this mattress topper, hoping! Well, it worked, my guests said they hadn't slept on a better bed in ages. So, now, I'm thinking of buying another one for my living room sofa bed (It is really lumpy).
This product isn't quite like real memory foam. The texture and composition were more like a cross between memory foam and regular foam (think less memory, and more foam). But it did help a LOT in making my brittle, dry dorm bed feel much better. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable mattress topper, but who don't mind if it doesn't exactly have the cloud-like effects of true memory foam.
I got this to go on top of the Slumber 1, 8" memory foam mattress I got from walmart.com because I still needed a little more cushion. My hips go numb in the night unless I have a super padded surface. This one is working great! I had the Canopy 1.5 memory topper, but took it back after 2 nights b/c it was so hot. This one does NOT make me sweaty on one side like others. I actually only rolled over once in the night last night, which is HUGE for me. It's not hot and doesn't stink like chemicals, so I'm happy. It took several hours to puff up, but I slept on it the first night and it was fine.
Overall, I have really enjoyed this topper. The eco-friendly material was important to me, and though it may not be the purest foam out there, it is also not the most expensive. I feel good knowing that I am resting my head on this material rather than my mattress. It is worth noting that it is important to allow it to air out before using in order to truly judge the effectiveness. The slight foam-y smell does go away. It is very soft and I already had an old-school egg crate topper, so the two combined make the perfect softness. We ordered a king and it was true to size. I am sleeping much better on it and it kept me from having to purchase a new mattress.
Nice heavy, dense memory foam compared to other store bands. It would have been nice if it came with a cloth cover. Excellent product for a great price.
My mattress is about as old as I am (20) if not older. It belonged to my Great Grandmother, then my mother, and for the past 13 years it has belonged to me. What I really need is a new mattress, but with money tight, I can't really afford one right now. Recently, my mattress started hurting my back. I looked around for some mattress toppers and found this to be the cheapest. It had pretty good reviews, so I bought it. I can say that I'm pretty satisfied with it. It definitely softens up my really old mattress. However, it doesn't quite have as much padding as I had assumed. I should have gone with the 4", but I wanted to save money. Still, for 1 and a half inches, it definitely does help. This may seem odd, but laying on the memory foam topper without sheets seemed much more softer than after I put the sheets on. Somehow, the sheets compressed the softness of the foam when I'm on my bed. Maybe that's just in my head though. You decide for yourself. As for the person who said this had a bad smell, I disagree. Perhaps this person had a defective topper or just a really strong sense of smell. Though the foam does have a slight smell, I didn't find it to be bad. Once I put it on my bed and put the blankets on, I couldn't even smell it anymore. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a cheap mattress topper. One last thing. If you have a dog, it might be in your best interest to keep it away from your memory foam topper before putting your sheets on. I walked away for two seconds and my dog decided to bite a chunk out of mine. =P
The foam is much cooler than regular memory foam, and in that respect it met my expectations. However, when I sleep on my side, I completely compress the foam and it doesn't help much at all. If I lay on my back, my 200 pound mass is distributed more evenly and the cushioning effect is adequate. Not bad for the money, but I need another one to get enough padding.
We opened this and let it "air out" per the instructions for two days. Then put it on our mattress and the chemical smell was so awful, we couldn't sleep! Yanked it off the mattress the next morning, bagged it and put in the garage. Had to wash the mattress pad, linens AND comforter to get rid of the smell.... HORRIBLE!!!!!!! What is in this thing? Am going to see if I can return it so it doesn't smell up the garage!
