This is a great lighter weight hoody. It is not as thick as some that I have purchased in the past from EB but it is perfect for chilly air conditioning, Spring, and Fall. It would most likely be a great hoody to layer under a Winter jacket as it is thin and not bulky. I sized up since the fit description indicated an "Active" fit but I think I could have stayed with my normal size. The indigo color is beautiful but the silver is blah. Would love to see EB make this hoody in deeper colors for Fall. It's a great hoody overall.
I purchased a Medium Tall in the heather red - I planned on wearing walking however, I wear around the house all the time because it is a great lightweight hoodie that is super warm. I was surprised how warm it is considering the weight of the jacket. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I really like this fleece hoodie. It is lightweight, yet keeps me relatively warm, and I can add extra layers if I am cold (as I get cold easily). I am 5'3", 125 lbs, and the small regular fits me good, allowing for a thin layer underneath. i really like the zipper pockets as well. Note to Eddie Bauer: the sizing seems to be off sometimes. I have two of these. The second one was much bigger. I talked with someone on the phone at EB, and they suggested I reorder the same size again. I did, and the next one fit me nicely ... same size (both size Small).
This hoodie rocks! It's warm but not bulky which I really like. Also, the hood is more fitted than a lot of jackets and hoodies so it doesn't just blow off when it's windy. It sheds water relatively well. In a light rain it takes a while before it gets soaked through. Not saying its waterproof but maybe a little water repellent? Also I love the thumbholes in the sleeves. Keeps the breeze out and keeps your hands a little bit warm. I have two of these for myself (LOVE the deep purple color) and have given two away as gifts (one to a gal undergoing chemo treatment and she says she can't believe how warm it is). My only gripe is that it's a little pricey. But if you have rewards and/or can catch a good sale then it's totally worth it.
These hoodies are great. It is my "go to" hoodie when traveling or running around town. Flat exterior so fits under a jacket or another fleece for the perfect additional layer. I already have a blue one, and love that, so when they produced the new boysenberry color, which is a dark purple, had to get it. It's a pricey lite weight hoodie, even with their sale, but It's a comfortable fit, neat looking (vs the sloppy, oversized look) and the new color is awesome!! I am 5' 2", 115 lbs and the PS fits perfectly.
Love the jacket. It is lightweight, but warm. I almost bought a size Large because I thought a Medium would be tight-fitting, but it is true-to-size, and the Medium fits perfectly. I am 5' 9", 146 lb., and I have long arms. I appreciate that Eddie Bauer sleeves are long enough for me. (Long-sleeve t-shirts and jackets I bought several years ago were not this way - sleeves were much too short for me.)
I tried these on at the store and loved them. I loved them so much I chose two of them to take into the dressing room. It is definitely the athletic fit. So order accordingly. At first the fabric feels rugged, but the more you wear it, the more you get used to the surface texture and love the fleecy soft inside. Please make future versions of this and all work out wear long enough to just barely cover the full torso... including the crotch.
I liked the fabric but it had a small zipper in it. It was tight in the upper arms-again!!! EB when are you going to make the sleeves wider on your clothes. I have sent back many items, because of the tightness in the sleeve, while the rest of the garment fits. I ordered a large because that is what I wear in the long sleeve t-shirts from EB. I wanted the jacket to be some what fitted. Needless to say, this one went back. I love the tall sizes and have ordered alot of your clothes because of the tall size. Please make the sleeves alittle wider. I am not terribly over weight, but do have muscular arms, for a 69 year old.
I ordered two Petite Mediums, one in grey, one in purple. The grey one was noticeably larger, and fit me OK (though I still think they are cut too long in the body for Petites), but the purple one is way to small. This is not the only time this has happened with EB products. I'm getting tired of wasting my time driving to the nearest store to return things. And the stores in my area don't ever carry Petite sizes, so I have to order online. Think I will shop elsewhere.
I have two 1/4 zip High Route Fleece pullovers, so I decided to buy the hoodie...what a mistake. The back is at least 5"-6" longer in the back - very strange look; the sleeves are extremely long so the thumb slits are useless; the neck is so tall (high) that is comes up over my chin; the hood is useless...it's almost impossible to pull it up over my head as it is very small and the bottom of the hood is attached to the top of the neck, so when zipped up the it is impossible to pull it over my head. Unfortunately I had to return it.
