Great value for your buck. Fits nicely in small spaces, easy to clean and easy to assemble. Produces great meat with delicious flavours such as chicken and ribs. Good buy!
Before I purchased the propane smoker[ %23DGY78BDP] I read the reviews pro's and con's. I found that the most con was the thermostat did not have a accurate reading so I had two new thermostats that are internal I placed them in the smoker .My goal was to use 225 F to 250 F on First break in or seasoning the smoker before using food. The factory thermostat matched the other two internal thermostats at 225 F Then I adjusted the Dampers and raised a desired temperature to 250 F with no problem. Both temperatures stayed consistent and steady. But remember when your wood chips start to ignite it will raise the temperature. Learn how to adjust your dampers. The smoker was easy to assemble held heat very well and easy to adjust to the desired temp ,So I know it will smoke a nice beef brisket for me with out worrying about unsteady temperature rising or falling..
Pretty good smoker.easy to use .
Got this for my spouse for Father's Day...It is just what he wanted, and has been doing the cooking of meats everytime he gets a chance to try it out....It sure pays to let them pick out the gift they want you to get them. I'm enjoying the foods he is having fun experimenting making. Great cooker, he and the little smoker...
Before I purchased this smoker I did a lot of research, my biggest concern was the door seal, I have seen other smokers where the owner had to purchase gasket material to get a good seal on the door. I did not need this, the product is very well made, the packaging protected all of the components during shipping, and the assembly was clear and easy to put together. The wood pan could be made of a heavier gage material as well as the water pan but they are just OK. Cooking results are very good, I have a pork shoulder on as I write this, so please feel free to give this smoker a try.
Great for a first time smoker purchase. Only took about a hour to assemble with no issues or damage when shipped. It will require some modification when it comes to the seal around the doors, because it does leak smoke. This was not surprise because i did my research before purchasing the smoker, but over all it seems like a great smoker.
smoked 6 chicken leg quarters and a brisket. turned out great , smoker held a temp at 230 thru out cooking.
I give this a 4 star rating, because I had to make a modification right out of the box. The wood chip box is way to high above the flames to get the box got enough to create smoke. I drilled 4 holes added 4 - 4 1/2 bolts and now works perfect. I've seen other reviews, that have made the same comments, hello engineering. Assembly was very easy went together in about 45 minutes.
The burner (BTUs) seems a little under rated if you want any temperatures above 240. It is fine for the smoke temperature range shown on the face dial. I was attempting to smoke a turkey at a higher temperature and had difficulty getting close to the 275 they rev ended.
The smoker is much smaller than I anticipated given the dimensions on the product list. Those dimensions include the spread size of the legs. Cooking racks won't fit a full rack of baby back ribs without putting them on at a diagonal on the rack. Great smoker for small items, but I would get a larger one for ribs, briskets and turkey's.
