We used it this past weekend for the first time and it did and amazing job! We smoked 2 chickens and it worked just like described. The internal temperature probe takes the guess work out of figuring out the doneness. I can't vouch for it's durability tho since we have only had it 2 weeks
Smoker work's great. 1/4 cup of chips every 2 hours and you get a nice smoke flavor. Have done ribs and pork butt, can't wait to try brisket.
The first time out using the smoker, I had 4 different meats going at once. All turned out exceptional. I liked the fact that it had more than enough racks that can be configured how you want them. Adding more wood during the cooking process was very easy using the side door wood chute. It allowed for the main door to remain closed while adding more wood chips to keep the temp up. The front glass door was nice so that you could see the amount of smoke you were producing and to keep an eye on the meat as it was cooking. Very pleased with this electric smoker. Plug it in, set the temp, set the timer, fill it up with meat and let er be...no baby sitting needed.
works great so far. used it twice and performs great. love the side chute. makes it real easy without opening door. word of caution ,don't keep adding chips through the whole smoking process or the meat will be so strong a smoke taste, like I did the first time.
first time use and it was great
Unit seems to be well built. The door to add chips does not work very well, place chips in cup on door and let door close upwards. Chips do not always fall into chip pan, they stick in feed tube. On first use the door developed condensation between the glass panes but does not affect operation. Does a great gob smoking. Have used it three times for jerky, pepperoni and summer sausage. Did a good job on all except the summer sausage which overcooked on the ends above heating element. Will make shorter sausages in the future to avoid this problem. Can't wait to try out unit with meat other than sausage.
Glass and digital timer/temp steam up, Not Good...
This was a Christmas present and when I picked it up from the Walmart.com I noticed the box was extremely damaged. When we to it home we noticed the glass was falling out of a hole in the box. The glass door had been broken. We returned the smoker and purchased from a different seller. This is the third time we have ordered from Walmart.com and the items have been damaged. I think I will stick with Amazon.
