I was looking for a smoker that won't cost a ridiculous amount of money because I was a beginner. This competes with the expensive quality smokers! not only is it good but charcoal cost way less than gas. The cooks were telling exactly how it is. It seals very well and keeps the temperature steady. When smoking the brisket, the entire family of 4 take turns every 1 and half hour in filling up the water to keep it moist. Also, charcoal must be reloaded 12 to 15 pcs to keep the temperature at 200 to 250. We cover it with foil after 5 hours of cooking and cook for 9 hrs straight. Read the reviews. You will learn a lot. I learned more here than websites when it came to techniques.
i love this smoker, fits a ton of meats and easy to use.. greaf price too
I have owned many smokers in my lifetime and this is my favorite so far. I can maintain my temperature easy and there is plenty of room for meats.
I bought this 2 weeks ago and have done 2 sets of ribs, pulled pork and smoked mac n cheese. Took a little bit to get used to using charcoal, but I absolutely love it!
Good for the price. Doors don't seal very well so you may need to add gaskets around door. Kept temperatures where needed. Only thing missing is a water pan bilirubin overall good product
First time buying and using a smoker as a female who loves to cookout year round. Easy to use and clean. Enough racks to smoke lots of food.
This is a good smoker for the $$, but the only issue with this model is the exhaust vent, before you assemble it to the smoker just take a look at it when the vent is closed all the way. The gaps in the exhaust vent are a issue, all the way closed is like 1/4 to 1/3 open. Also there is no water pan, only a wood chip smoker box that rests above the fire.
this is a good cooker it is a little small for whole briskets and racks of ribs but it makes good pork butts and roasts for pulled beef just the right size for all the smaller stuff you cook it holds a good temp and really puts a good smoke ring in your food the only issue is the chip box you have to stay on top of it because the chips go fast you can toss a wood chunk in the charcoal box it will last a little while but it is a good small cooker
Overall the grill is great. The coal tray is a little awkward to manage after you start smoking because of how it is positioned inside. You have to be very careful when adding additional coals. I smoked three slabs of baby backs and 30 pieces of chicken and it all turned out great.
My most recent smoker (not round) was similar except it had a water pan above. The water pan shielded the direct heat. More importantly, the burner box allows far too much air to the coals, resultantly they burn too hot. I'll make do. I love the design, NOT a big fan of indirect smokers- too hard to generate enough heat at times. I'll try smaller amount of charcoal/wood and place some heavy sheet metal in burner box to slow air flow to coals. All in all, price considered, very good purchase
