I was able to assemble the elliptical by myself even though it suggests using two people. When I first started using it I couldn't exercise for very long. But now I work out a little every day and each time I can exercise a little longer. I feel great using this machine and it doesn't bother my joints as much as the treadmill. I would highly recommend this machine to anyone in my age bracket for a great workout at a great price. Walmart delivery was faster than they stated and free shipping.
My wife wanted an eliptical trainer that would burn some calories, tighten the muscles, but not break the bank. You can spend thousands on an eliptical, but this one get's the job done. PROS -The dial-a-resistance feature is nice and easy to use -Price -Comfort -Computer is easy to use CONS - It took a couple hours to assemble. The wiring was a little tricky -It tends to rock sideways a little if you are heavy.
We already had the 18" model that we bought 2 years ago at our local Walmart & it has held up great & is a great workout. We wanted to get another 18" but couldn't find it at WalMart so we got this 14" model. Again it set up easily & is solid built. The difference in the strides is a HUGE difference. The new 14" is like a fluid stepper rather than an elliptical. The workout is massive on the thighs & heart. You feel like your climbing a very steep hill even on the lowest resistance of 1. So I would not recommend this as an elliptical but I would strongly suggest it as great fitness equipment. No squeaks or noises yet but the other one never had any so we don't expect this one to either.
The Weslo Momentum CT5.9 Elliptical w/ clutch, has proven to be a great value. Assembling the elliptical did take time, but the instructions are easy to read/understand. They provide all the allen wrenches and grease needed, which made it convenient. Once assembled, the unit is very sturdy & quiet and the electronic workouts are similar to the ones found on the more expensive units at the gym. It takes 4 "D" cell batteries....BUT, you can purchase an optional ac adapter for the display unit. Initially, the unit was squeaky...which is a common comment on these reviews. However, I went back and "loosened" the screws on the front bar on the base and it eliminated that problem. I over tightened the screws apparently. After that, I'm very happy w/machine. Reference: Male, 5'8 tall, 200+ lbs. Hope this is helpful.
The instructiosn said you have to put it together with the help of another person. I had no body to help and hate instuctions as if they are in a foreign language. 3 hours later, I had my in home exercizer and was sweating on it. the instructionsa are easy to follow and it is a great home device.
I Love this elliptical machine! Its my new best friend. I'm on it everyday for 30 to 40 min. Its very quiet and the size is perfect for my space. Not too big at all. The one complaint i might have is that it was real stiff the first few days. Level 1 felt like level 4. So i just got on for 10 min. then got off and marched in place for a while,giving my thighs alittle break, then got right back on. i did this a few times until my 30 min was reached. But after about 5 days, it was no bother at all. Now its all loosened up and i work out on level 5! The price is great, the product is great, and im now hoping the results will be great. Wish me luck!
For the price (I paid ~$300) this is a good elliptical. If you can find it under that price it's definitely worth the buy. It isn't at all flimsy and although the control panel is very basic, it has pre-programmed workouts and is very easy to use. The only drawback is that it may require two people to put together certain parts without severing the wires. Other than that, I'm very happy with the product.
I found this was the perfect value. I have really enjoyed the purchase of my new elliptical. I have also told other friends and family members about my find and they can't wait to make their own purchase. I will definitely be referring more people to check this out.
I had read the other reviews prior to making my purchase. I have to admit that the wobbling is annoying. The instructions were great! Needs batteries, which is also a negative. I put this thing together with a high quality tool set, but the wobbling keeps going unless it's on a REALLY hard solid surface. The more rubber mats you put under it, the worse the wobbling gets. I fixed that (mostly) with a piece of plywood. I'm not impressed with the cheap plastic drink holder. Because of it's location, I smashed it with my knee on the very first use. I suggest moving it up higher if you can!
I purchased this in December. Put it together and started to use it. There was a major rubbing sound in the rear. I had to completely take apart again, and also take the sides off. If you take the round disc where the rear tread support attaches, the belt will come off and you cannot get it back on without taking the whole piece of equipment apart. We have used it about 15 times, now there is a knocking sound. Also the monitor does not have a back light. Hard to see.
