Detailed product description

Product DescriptionThe Stamina 1724 CT 2.0 Air Resistance Cross Trainer Elliptical gives you air resistance and electronically controlled tension for a workout that targets cardiovascular fitness and shapes and tones legs, hips, glutes, and abs. Elliptical trainer workouts burn a similar number of calories as jogging but without the risk of injury to the back, knees, hips, or ankles. Since your feet never leave the pedals the Stamina 1724 Cross Trainer gives a low-impact workout that is easy on your joints. In fact, whereas jogging, jumping rope, aerobics classes, and exercising on a treadmill all require your body to absorb the force of impact, exercising on an elliptical can be compared to running in midair. Because ellipticals are so low impact and easy on the joints, they are also a good choice for older people or for individuals who have old injuries. Up and down buttons adjust the resistance to control the intensity of your workout. The monitor's built-in fingertip pulse sensor tracks your heart rate so you work out within your target heart rate zone. Elliptical trainers mimic the natural path of the foot, the extension of the leg, and the rotation of the hip during walking or running. This motion uses all the leg muscles, giving you a total lower body workout while the dual action arms work your upper body and let you increase or decrease intensity. Work your arms harder to tone and to burn more calories. The foot pedals can be worked in a forward or reverse direction. Resistance may be added as desired to increase the workload on your legs throughout the forward or backward stride to tone thighs and glutes.Amazon.comAn affordable way to burn calories when the weather takes a turn for the worse, the Stamina Air Resistance cross trainer is a terrific choice for home workout enthusiasts. Elliptical trainers offer a unique appeal, as they burn a similar number of calories as jogging but without the risk of injury to the back, knees, hips, or ankles. The smooth-gliding machines are also ideal for older people or folks who are recovering from injury, as their low-impact design won't tax the joints. And thanks to the dual-action handlebars, you can exercise both the arms and the legs at the same time--something that can't be said for traditional jogging. The movement of the dual handlebars instead mimics cross-country skiing, helping you engage the upper 30 percent of your body for better fitness results. The cross trainer offers three ways to adjust your workout intensity: air resistance, which creates more resistance the faster you move; the dual-action handlebars, which naturally add more cardio intensity while toning your arms, chest, shoulders, and back; and a tension knob that offers eight levels of built-in resistance. Users will also appreciate the 13-inch stride length, which mimics the true walking or running motion of the foot, the extension of the leg, and the rotation of the hip. Finally, the trainer offers an easy-to-use, single button, multifunction electronic monitor that tracks your speed, time, distance, and calories burned. Additional features include oversized, slip-resistant pedals that work in both forward and reverse; comfortable foam handgrips; and an attractive two-toned grey housing. The Air Resistance trainer supports up to 250 pounds and carries a one-year warranty on the frame and a 90-day warranty on parts.

Basic Elliptical that gets the job done. Only thing I don't like is that the machine kind of wobbles if you go too fast.

This is a great product for the novice. It is easy to use and is a great work out you can make it as tough or easy as you want it. I would recommend anyone who is nervous about going to a gym to work out but is looking for a better body.

The product takes a little tie to assemble but is a good value for the cost. If you are on a limited budget this is a good choice. Is compact and only take limited space to use. Stride lenght is limited but I guess that is to be expected for the cost.

it broke within the year, i literally had the main frame replaced 4 times within the year. Now i am not overweight by any means, i used it twice everyday and didn't meet my expectations at all. Very Noisy, just recently was sent some company installation updates, just horrible. SHAME on you Stamina.

I bought this in the middle of oct. This product says it is new, but they just re listed it. Previous reviews on the original mostly gave it good reviews. Just last week the left pedal came off. After looking at other sites-which I should have done in the first place, most people had the same problem. The bolt and the connecting threads of the crank are totally stripped. While using you go the opposite way, loosing it every time. If you do buy, you will have to tighten every use. It was also noisy, some wd40 did help though, until it broke. I would save your money and just save up to buy something with more quality.

I bought this product last fall used it for five months and lost thirty pounds. Was great deal for the price, but was noisy and off balance when exercising. After the sixth month of use a crack started in the frame, then within three more uses cracked all the way down the middle so machine was unusable. You get what you pay for!

The elliptical was a great price and pretty easy to put together, but I've had it for less than six months and it is already broken. First I had problems with the handlebars needing to be screwed in over and over again because they come off while you're exercising. The same with the foot pedals - the more you use it, the worse they get, and you'll find yourself screwing the pedals back on over and over again. The machine also made a really awful squeaking noise, but WD-40 sorted that out. in the end, after using it for on;y 5 months, something broke inside the main part (the part that came already put together, so I can't take it apart and see what's wrong) and now it just doesn't work at all. Spend a few extra bucks and get a decent one!

This seemed like an OK item at first. Its gears stripped out after 3 uses. Unfortunately, I had thrown out the packaging by then so I cannot return it. The company sent me replacement parts which might be helpful if I had someone with machine tools who could remove the old, ruined piece from the eliptical machine. Save yor money and buy something better quality!!!
