My husband and I are very happy with this piece of furniture considering the price. It is very sturdy, a nice height and I like that the changing rail can be removed later and it makes a cute little dresser. Assembly took about an hour and the only potential drawback may be the long term durability of the drawers. For now...perfect for what we need.
We just finished putting this together and are pleased over all. My husband put the first half together, and I finished it. Neither one of us had any problems. If you were wondering, like I was, the height measurement of 44" is from the very top of the decorative changing area (curve in the back) and not from the surface of the changing area. The height of the changing surface is 36 1/2 inches, but you may want to consider the increased height if you were to add a standard 3-4 inch changing pad. I'm 5'4" and my husband is 6'4", and this table seems to be a comfortable height for us both. Perhaps the very best feature of this piece is that the changer top can later be removed and the piece can then be used as a dresser. The top attaches only in the back, so there are no holes or anything in the top once the changer area is removed. The color is a true white. We bought it to go with our Graco Victoria crib and it's almost a perfect match. Close enough that I could put the pieces side by side and doubt anyone would ever notice a difference. The knobs are kind of blah, but that's a super easy fix with all there cute knobs out there to choose from. Overall, it is of fairly nice quality. My husband commented that it seemed higher quality than our crib, which we thought was pretty nice too. The back of the dresser and the bottom of the changer are the super thin board rather than wood, but that really shouln't compromise the stability since the rest of the frame is thick and solid (and the changer sits on top of the dresser top which is thick sturdy wood). The open part measures 29 1/2"L X 16 1/2"W X 9"H if you're basket shopping.
We've had this for 3 months and really like it. This was one of the few ALL white changing tables I could find with drawers AND the open cubbie for a bin of diapers etc. I fit two bins inside - 1 for washcloths, cloth diapers etc, and the otehr for diapers, creams etc. It was difficult to put together (DH put it together - he had to get a friend to help with one of the drawers wouldn't slide in) but it's been working fine since. I heard that all open changing table won't work for little ones when they start crawling, climbing and puling everything off the shelves. It works out great for me since it's tall and I am 5'10"
It was a little hard to put it together, that's why I am giving it 4 stars. However, this changing table is made of a solid wood, very white and cute. The drawers are spacious. Overall a good purchase for a very nice price!
I was really excited to find this diaper changing table at such a great price. I really like the drawer space for receiving blankets, bibs, and to hide other baby clutter. The shelf is really handy to have all of your essentials at arms reach. The only drawback I have found is that it did not come with a diaper changing pad. The contoured ones sit too high and I still haven't found a flat waterproof pad that will work. Overall, well worth the moola
I spent months researching changing tables for our daughter's nursery. I was leary of purchasing a piece made largely of 'particle board' and found myself discouraged until I located this Carter's piece. The reviews convinced me to make the purchase. It was shipped quickly and though my husband found the instructions to be difficult to interpret, we both agree it was of good quality for a very reasonable price. We're pleased with our purchase!
I bought this product a couple of weeks ago. I loved the fact it could be used as a changing table and a dresser. After waiting a week for it to be shipped I started to put it together with the help of my friend. Soon after we realized that they had miss labeled a part and some of the screws were missing. We continued to put the Changing table to together and after 4 hours of tedious work it was done. With a little rigging it is a very beautiful Changing table. I just wouldn't go through all this again.
We purchased this changing table and when we got it home and set it up we realized it was too tall for me. I am only 5'3 and it was really high. I even had my sister try it with her 1 yr old daughter and she said it was pretty tall for her. She said the changing table at her house is at least 4-5 inches shorter. That makes a big difference when you're lifting a baby up and down all day long. So if you're tall, it would be great, but for us short people it's not so great. Also it does not come with a changing pad, so when you buy one and put it on top, it adds even more height. The average changing pad at Babies R Us is about 4 inches tall, so you add that height to the already tall changer. Would have been a bit better if it came with it's own pad that didn't add any more height. I still gave it a fairly good rating because the quality of the product was great, it is really sturdy and well built. I love the look of it, and the drawers were really spacious. The only other thing I didn't like was the top wasn't very long, it is just long enough to fit the changing pad, there was no extra room to put a basket for changing supplies, I could of lived with that, but we decided to return the product due to the height of it. I have to say Child Of Mine does seem to make good quality products, so I wouldn't worry about the quality, that part was great. Just not great height wise for a shorty like me :) We have the matching 6 drawer dresser and we kept that, it is wonderful - great quality. Wish this changer had been a little shorter and a little longer, but overall it is pretty good.
My husband and I were rather disappointed with the quality of this product. True, the price is low however I've purchased other well priced items from Walmart (as well as Ikea, Target, etc.) that were constructed much better. Once we got it assembled it looks fine and we'll use it, however I'll have to see how it holds up once our baby gets larger & starts wiggling more. The screw brackets don't feel all that solid and the drawers feel flimsy as well. I'll be replacing the drawer pulls to something else to make the piece look a bit nicer. Side note - we received the Baby Mod Olivia crib (also sold at Walmart) as a gift and LOVE it. Super sturdy and looks wonderful. If their changing tables would have been the dimensions we were looking for, we would have surely purchased one from that brand.
We were incredibly disappointed in this piece. It arrived while I was in the hospital. My husband went home to find that much of the paint had dings and chips, and there was a huge crack along the changing table wall (the part that comes off later to make it just a dresser). We did not return it, however, because we didn't have time to dissemble it, return it, and replace it before I was discharged. We are using it, but after tax and shipping, this product was around $190. Highly disappointed. It is made of pressboard which is not very durable, and by the time it ships, it may have plenty of damage. If you purchase this, look over it closely before assembling and order well in advance in case you have any trouble with it. You will have plenty of time to return it. If I had to do it all over again, I would not buy this piece.
