I have purchased this crib for my baby that is on the way... I put it together.. but obviously have not used it yet... so I can't say how it works with the baby... but I it is a very attractive crib.. I have not been able to find another quite like it.. I love how it looks.. The only problem with it was the directions.. they were pretty bad... I have put together a lot of furniture in my days.. but these directions were not the clearest... Also, some of the holes that were predrilled were not cleared out enough or deep enough, so there were some headaches getting some of the bolts in place. I also had one bolt that had extra solder on the top where you were supposed to put the tool in to screw it in.. I had to get a wrench and twist it as tight as I could by holding on to the sides of the bolt. Pretty annoying when there isn't any extra parts for problems like that.. It's not like it is a normal screw or something... But other than those few problems... It would have been super easy to put together if the directions were clearer and the bolts and holes were all perfect! I still love the crib and and very happy with it. The bedding I picked out looks so cute in it! I can't wait to put the baby in! :o)
I purchased one and my wife loves it very much. She said that it is very practical to have the crib with drawers, so we could store our baby stuff inside. We have never known before that there is such a crib that can be expanded into a teenager bed. It could save us some bucks :) We hope our baby will love it too.
We received this crib as a gift from my husband's family. We were told to not take everything out of the box since they were marked on the box itself. This helped a lot when it came to building it. My husband & I were able to finish the crib in two hours. The crib itself looks very nice. The shelving & drawers are great since we need all the space savers we can get. We haven't been able to use it since our son isn't due until June, but I'm sure it will hold up just fine. We look forward to finally start using it in a few months! =)
My husband and I have this crib for our baby. It was a gift so we hoped we would like it and... we really do!! We have an apartment so space is limited, it is perfect for all storage needs. We have always had a thing for darker wood and it is gorgeous! None of that partical board. The one side drops for convience. Plus, it was not a pain at all to put together. The only 'beef' I had about the crib was the price.. it is one of the more expensive items from Wal-Mart. But so worth it, an overall GREAT crib!!
It took me over 9 months to shop around looking for a quality crib for the right price. I love this functional, cost effective crib. It is a full size crib, changing table, 5 dresser drawers and made of sturdy quality wood that does not rock and neither flimsy. Other crib that are alike at higher end specialty stores costs over $2500, and this was only $399, what a bargain! Since it is a converter crib, I will save money by not having to buy a toddler bed later on. 1-minor 2 cm clip on the corner of my changing table. I am 9 months preganant and my husband is in Iraq....and I assembled the crib on my own with ease (2hours) . The crib almost weighs 150 pounds so you need help getting it into the car and into your house. I assure you I am very particular about what I buy at Walmart, and this is the best crib out there and is worth the money!!!
Bought this crib about six months ago for a baby expected in March 2008. It was placed in the room and used whenever my sister's baby came over each week. It was very easy to assemble and easy to use. It saved us alot of money too because we didn't need to buy a changing table or drawers which in addition to the crib would have cost us more than $500. It's a great buy! Highly recommend it!
Very beautiful crib. I have not had a chance to use it yet, but I like the way it looks. It didn't take my husband long to put it together although the directions were not very clear. The only issues that I had is that it was chipped in some places and there was a piece missing from the drawer, which we are waiting to receive.
The only complaint I have about this crib is that it has been impossible to find a pad to fit the changing table pad. Before purchasing, I would recommend that you try to find a pad measuring 15.5" by 27.5" first. The crib itself is absolutely gorgeous with lots of storage space and looks beautiful with the Uptown Baby bedding set by George in pink. It was a bear to assemble, but worth it in the end.
Our baby has yet to sleep in this crib, but it seems like she will like it. A few things with set up: It took forever! As we all know directions are never clear with items like these. They also lined up some of the screw holes wrong so we had to take apart an entire drawer and screw it back together to get it to work properly. Some of the screws stripped the wood so now we have to find something else to hold it together. The front part of the crib railings is all scratched so we have to attempt to get the company to send us a new peice. And the diaper changing table is tiny! I had to cut down the smallest pad I caould find and sew it back together just to make it fit. Sll in all it doesn't seem to bad but I am not really impressed so far.
At 71/2 months, I managed to put bed together in about 4hrs. I was disappointed with the scrapes and dings. Also, it appeared to have been spraypainted (there were tiny specks between the bars). The color was not even, some areas was lighter than others. Some of the slats/bars were rough. Some of the roller drawer bars had been bent during shipping, that had to be adjusted inorder for the drawers to work. The fold down is difficult to operate, one end has to be pushed in when closing. whether it withstands an actual baby is yet to be seen. My husband and friends thinks it is great.
