This chest is just what we were looking for. The wood and finish is a beautiful deep cherry and very smooth. It took a little longer than expected to put together but that is because there are A LOT of screws and we had not charged the power drill. The drawers are a little shallow but will accommodate baby-toddler clothes very well. The chest is quite tall and looks just beautiful. It came with the equipment to attach it to the wall so it does not tip over. Baby Izabella wont be here until March09 but I am sure she will love it and be able to use it for a long time.
This dresser looks great. I do have a few things I dont like about it... when I first opened the box, I thought they sent me the wrong color, because all the boards for the drawers- pretty much everything that you cant see is a neutral color...kinda annoying. And putting it together seemed like it took forever, Im 21 weeks pregnant and my husband is deployed, so I put it together myself. Isnt hard, just takes a ton of patience. Stands tall, and looks great, Got the changer/dresser combo too, and that was far worse to put together...havent attempted to crib yet.. :) Bought all the cambridge, they had. Overall would recomend it, just make sure you have some patience before you begin!
I ordered this dresser to match the Storkcraft Cambridge nursery set, which was hard to find since it kept going out of stock. I was told that this line is being discontinued, so you may want to buy while you can, this is a great deal! Although the assembly was horrible, it's a great product and the site-to-store shipping was such a great deal and saved me so much money. The box actually fit into the back of my PT Cruiser (with the back seat folded down), so it wasn't bad getting it home. I highly recommend this product, the pictures don't do it justice.
This dresser was purchased to match a dark cherr Storkcraft crib, but a different style. The colors matched perfectly, along with a storkcraft changing table. Looks like a matched set. The cherry in all the Storkcraft items is a good match.
For the price, it is a very nice piece of furniture. it appears to be the same as the Beatrice model, but less expensive. Easy to assemble although the instructions are in pictures only. Took about 60-90 minutes to to together? Nice drawer space, the top of the chest top and drawer fronts are stained wood and the sides appear to be veneered particle board. The drawer sides and back are particle board and the bottoms are a heavy type of cradboard-like material that slide in. The only complaint is that the drawer sides/back/bottom are a natural color while on the matching Cambridge dresser the insides are cherry as well. Bought it in store (with no display to look at) and it was packed nicely and undamaged. The baby is not here yet, so I cannot attest to its durability - but you can't beat the price.
Now that the dresser is put together, it looks great and feels great. But, putting the darn thing together was horrible! It took my husband and I a few hours to get it done, mainly b/c the instructions are so poorly written. Although the instructions designate each piece of the dresser by a letter, none of the pieces are actually labled in any way. So, the instructions might tell you to screw side A together with side B, but you have no idea out of all the pieces, which side is A and which side is B. It was very frustrating. The dresser seems to be a good quality for the price, but it takes a very patient person to put it together.
