This is the best stuff for not only your greasy hands, but also cleaning antique wooden furniture and Art Deco bakelite items such as TVs and radios.
I've been using this stuff for about seventy years, first as a farm boy doing the things farm boys do. My dad had been using it for years before then. About forty years ago, I discovered that it wasn't just for hands--it removes grease from just about everything. It has even removed the grease from my jeans. Over the years, I've tried a number of newer products when Gojo was not available, but nothing else even comes close to the original Gojo. Not even halfway close.
Best hand cleaner out their but it would be worth the money to get the larger size with the pump. He lid on the small jar is a pain.
I've no idea if GoJo realizes that Gojo Original (without pumice) is THE go-to cleanser for cleaning vintage sewing machines?! Antique black machines with decals often have a shellac varnish that is worn and damaged. While it's safe to clean the finish with sewing machine oil, some of them are filthy (literally barn finds!) and something stronger is called for. They will have dried oil around oil holes along with black gooey insulation from melted wires and carbon dust from motors. GoJo on a soft cotton cloth is fantastic for removing the gunk without destroying the decals. There was a rumor that it is being discontinued and I hope that is not the case and there is nothing else like it! (And thousands of vintage sewing machine enthusiasts would panic!) On the odd occasion, I also use it to clean my hands in the art studio! Tip: If I have this open for hours on end, it does get watery. So now I dispense some into a small container for cleaning a machine and keep the original jar closed (adding some wax paper on top also helps keep air out).
Great product [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
My husband has used GOJO hand cleaner for almost 35 yrs. Best hand cleaner for a mechanic's. Removes tough grease and oils. My brother also used it when in printing business. Best hand cleaner to remove tough ink.
Great original heavy duty hand cleaner. Exactly what I needed.
The pasta is of very good quality and there is nothing to replace it with.
Packaging is as horrible. Product leaked out of the container. Not sure yet if the container is broken or not. Since I paid more in shipping ($10.00) than the actual cost of the product, not worth shipping back. Bought it to clean old furniture. We will see...
My old can of another product ran out after a few years of use. The farm store I went to carried Gojo so I bought a can. A week or so after cleaning some grease off of my hands I opened the can and there was black stuff in the can - without glasses I assumed it was grease that I left in the can from before. I took that out, cleaned my hands, and closed the can. A week or so later I came back and there was a lot of black stuff in the can. It appeared that mold was growing. I threw out the can, went to a different farm store, and bought something that does not grow mold in the can.
