5th pair of Merrells, newly handicapped, can't walk well, the shoes give me balance and ability to wear an ankle brace with them
I work at a Tree Nursery and my feet were constantly wet. These stay DRY! I should have ordered a half size bigger. They're a little snug.
I love my waterproof Merrell's. I have been purchasing them for years. I live in snowy Canada and wear them all through the winter months as my travel to and from work shoes and my feet stay dry.
So comfortable from first time on. Getting another pair! Can't say enough good things!
Bought these because I need waterproof, warmth and good foot support as I am outside walking miles with a very active puppy. Super comfortable. No break in period. Easy to slip on and tie quickly. Laces stay tied. Absolutely 5 stars. Will purchase again for sure.
Shoe runs small and narrow; I should have ordered a size up. I can still wear somewhat comfortably with thin socks. Great for hiking not so much for standing all day. I like that they are less bulky than the Moabs, but the sizing is weird. Grippiest shoe I've ever worn. I'm not one to climb on rocks on hikes, but with these I do!
I ordered two new pairs to replace the ones I've worn and loved for 5 years and ordered the exact same size; 8.5 and they are obviously NOT the same size. I knew immediately when I put one on that it felt smaller so I checked the size thinking I must have been sent the wrong size, but no it says they are 8.5. So now I have to go through the lovely friggen process of repacking and returning to wait all over again for a larger size.
Brindle color more of an olive green, but in a good way. I had to go up a half size, because the wide width was not wide enough. Comfortable, with good arch support, but lacks much sole padding...feels hard like a boot sole, not springy like an athletic shoe. Not sure how comfortable they'll be after a long hike.
I tried this model of the siren after I destroyed a pair of waterproof siren edge shoes after 2 weeks of hiking in Utah. These have held up better than the siren edge, but I've found them to be less comfortable. For about 8 years, I bought the original waterproof siren sport model, one per year to use as my everything shoe, before they discontinued them. While the old model would fit me perfectly out of the box, I've found this new version gives me blisters on the balls of my feet. It also causes me muscle pains in my toes. I wish they would make the original siren sport again!
The first Merrell I can't give 4-5 stars to. Simply a very badly designed shoe. Went up a whole size and it still wasn't right. Even the liner/insole didn't fit properly and was all wrinkled up. Shame. The outside was somewhat nice looking, for a hiking shoe.
