I have several worx yard tools and will buy more in the spring. I needed the trimmer as I clean up for the fall. It is great. I just trimmed some bushes with fairly large stems I was unsure it could handle. The trimmer had no problem bringing the large and small twigs down. It is light enough for me to handle at 5'2", 73 years old.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the hedge trimmer which is still running and it still works well on trimmed the bushes
I bought the 40V Lawn Trimmer and was very pleased with the light weight and less stress on my back from using a professional weight gas trimmer. So, I bought this 40V Hedge Trimmer to go with the lawn trimmer and I am very pleased. This is a great little trimmer that works well on holly hedges, yaupon, red tips, boxwoods and others. I now know that I can get rid of the gas trimmers and quit buying gas and oil to mix. The greatest benefit is that these trimmers are back savers!
I always used a corded Hedge Trimmer, so very happy I switched to the Worx cordless. Very light and so much easier to use without worrying about cutting the cord. So instead of worrying about cutting the cord, just cut the cord and use the worx cordless ! you will be so happy you did! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Did everything I needed and had enough juice to do it again possibly twice. I have a hedge on the edge of my yard that was getting out of hand. the hand sheers were taking more time than I could afford. I selected the WG280 because of the price, the availability and the variety of tools the 40v system offers. I was not disappointed. I expected to go through multiple batteries. I will probably get the quick charger when I get my next Worx tool but if I can edge the whole yard on one charge I wont need it.
So much easier to use now that I don't micromanage a cord that falls out constantly. Plenty of power.
I have a competing brand's 18v cordless hedge trimmer that works for about 10 minutes before needing a new battery, and a competing brand's corded hedge trimmer that works great, but requires me to manipulate a 100' extension cord. This 40v Worx hedge trimmer has the power of the corded one, and the ease and convenience of the 18v. one. Does so much work on one battery's charge. I like it so much I have also bought the 40v trimmer, blower, and chain saw as well.
This trimmer is a real champ! After using a B&D trimmer for the last 15 years, and having to change batteries every 15 minutes, how refreshing to be able to run nearly continuously for several hours, without running out of charge. Trims crepe myrtles and hedges easily, but does have problems with cutting back ornamental grasses (pampas).
Bought this a month ago to trim knockout roses and podacarpus bushes around a storage house 200 feet from the house and electric outlets. All would have been great but the blades are not quite sharp enough to easily cut through the branches of these bushes. It will probably work better on the bushes in front yard with smaller branches. I'm pretty handy and seldom have a problem with assembly--unless there are done as drawings that bear absolutely no resemblance to the parts provided. I dare you to pull the handle apart on this item, as indicated by the pictogram, WITHOUT REMOVING ANY OF THE SCREW IN PLACE. ABSOLUTE NONSENSE. I had no problem with the other Worx products--including the JawSaw. I might be returning this one rather than deal with the frustration, loss of screws needed to reassemble what probably should not have been in one piece for shipping to begin with, and deal with what I can already see is a pretty hand grip intensive process for keeping the blades running. Anyone at Worx ever hear of arthritis????
