Im not exactly sure why alot of people in these reviews are saying these tires are bad/terrible to use for a everyday/street application, i understand these tires are intended for track use but my no means does that mean they shouldnt be used on the street..my summer wheels have these tires on them and they work perfectly fine for day to day driving or whatever i need. also driving in the rain is not dangerous unless youre a complete idiot and cant handle your own car...overall these tires are great for track and just as great for street and highway driving.
I have a 1980 Z28 with a big block pushing 600 hp and before i put B.F.G drag radials on i couldn't get any traction, now it will still spin obviously but 100% better. Haven't tried them on the track yet but soon, i'm sure with a very low air pressure and heat them up they will give a good launch. I'm impressed so far!
The BF Goodrich drag radials performed as advertised. They need to be heated like a conventional slick to get the best hook. I used them on my stock automatic 1965 GTO and they performed 100%. Make sure you get the proper size for your horsepower and application for the best result. Forget wear and fuel efficiency, this is a racing tire ~ and a very good one.
I bought these tires like seven years ago for my 92 camaro with some mild performance mods. They hooked so hard it made my stock clutch slip. After installing a performance clutch it was all fun after that. I leave cars sitting at the lights with these tires. The high point with these tires was a day at the strip when i was lined up with a guy that ran an 11.7 (I run 15.0) and we had the same 60ft times. I also auto-X with these and drive them all over rain or shine. NO DISAPPOINTMENTS!!! About the 5th year they do start getting a little harder and less sticky like any tire and they are racing tires so the mileage wasnt outstanding either but they do everything they are suppose to.
Altough better than stock tires, my drag radials were insufficient to handle my 625HP, TH400 '69 Elky. Couldn't come off the line, but they did keep me from fishtailing when stomping on it above 35mph, which is better than stock tires. Tread depth starts out at 5/32 and you're supposed to get rid of the tire at 2/32. I've had the tires for 2 years and put 5,500 fair-weather miles on them and they have 0/32 tread and should have been replaced about 1,000 miles ago. They've held up to ridiculous abuse and hold air well.
I used this product at the track.. and daily use on the street at the track they wheel hopped and didnt give great traction on the street i could not tell a difference from normal tires The Mickey Thompson drag radial performed much better
