This adorable light up toy octopus floats in the water and lights up upon contact to the water. The arms of the octopus are used to catch the rings. This toy has provided me with a great distraction while trying to get the baby clean. He loves this toy!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First I would like to say that I received this item for free in exchange for writing a review but this doesn't impact my opinion on this amazing developmental toy. Being a mom to multiple children I wish that they had toys like this when I had my first child. Pros: the octopus lights up when its little metal sensors touch your infants bath water, which in return grasps your babies attention. The little rings are small enough for your baby to easily grasp but large enough that you don't have to worry about them getting stuck in their mouth. The bright colors are sure to grab their attention for a long period of time. Cons: my only worry is if water is able to get into the battery compartment over time and would this lead to the toy failing or mildew forming like rubber ducks sometimes get. I wish that it had some other shapes to the rings to further developmental milestones. Overall: I love this octopus and so does my infant. I would purchase this for my other mom friends because I guarantee their children would also love it. By far my favorite feature is that when the octopus lights up it changes colors. So if you are looking for a new addition to bath time this is definitely the route to go.

This toy lights up, has rings to toss on the arms, has different textures on the tentacles, and is bright and engaging. My two year old was instantly hooked. Not sure if I received a lemon or not because after the first use it stopped lighting up. I checked the batteries and water had corroded the compartment and one of the sensors to make it light up. Considering this is a bath toy I was a little disappointed. I cleaned off the corrosion and replaced batteries but it will not light up. Going to order fresh batteries and try that. I think a water tight seal on the battery compartment is needed. I will purchase a new one if needed because it was such a huge hit for my toddler. Great toy and hopefully a seal for the batteries is added with newer ones.

It's too difficult to toss the rings on, but he has fun placing the rings on the tentacles. It only lit up for a few minutes before we couldn't get it to come back on. The rings do not float. My 1 year old likes when I toss the rings throughout the bath tub for her to collect. They're also large enough to hat they cannot down the drain. Overall, it's still fun for bath time play even without the light up feature.

However, after using it twice I guess the batteries died because it quit lighting up. He still plays with it. I just wish the batteries would have lasted longer.
I purchased this approximately 3 months ago for my grandson, and at first the lights didn't always want to light up when they were supposed to. Then my daughter sends me a picture of it today, and the water had gotten to the batteries causing them to leak battery acid all over the inside of the octopus. she said that she found out when he was going to play with it and noticed brown liquid coming out from inside of it. don't buy this for your children! there are reports of children going blind because of the same reason now that I'm looking into this a little bit more. this is a terrible product and should absolutely be taken off the market as it is not waterproof and it is not safe for small children in any way shape or form.
DO NOT BUY THIS FOR YOUR BABY!!!!! I've had this toy for MAYBE 2 months, have not used it more than a handful of times, and the batteries started LEAKING ACID ALL OVER THE PLACE!!! There was brown acid leaking out of the bottom of the toy. I opened it up to investigate and sure enough the batteries exploded. Do not buy this!!!! Do better, and take these off the market!!!! Children are loosing their eye sight from bathing with battery acid.
