I have paid more than $100 each for organic cotton pillows. These are a great value. You must remember organic cotton pillows are not like down pillows, they are different, firmer. I have recommended these to many friends. What a great price and very comfortable.
Cotton is a great filling for pillows: comfortable, durable, healthy (especially organically grown cotton) and washable... I've purchased cotton pillows (non-organic) in the past at four times the price of these...buy these while they're available!!!!
The pillow is a bit lumpy after washing, but of all natural materials and inexpensive. I'm using it as a second pillow with a quilted sham cover on my daughter's bed, so the denser cotton filling is fine for us. (She has a premium down sleeping pillow.) I am happy with the pillow because I was able to avoid petroleum-derived polyester filling without spending a lot of money on down. (Feathers are another lumpy, inexpensive choice of pillow filling, but the subtle feather smell is intolerable to my daughter.) I does appear that only the cover is organic cotton, while the filling is conventional cotton. You usually get what you pay for.
Good pillow, soft, nice quality. I think it could have been packed a bit fuller for my tastes, but I like a high pillow. This is the second pillow I've bought. I plan on combining the stuffing from this one and the other one to make the perfect pillow!
...although it was a little less firm than I like. However, I do not wake up stuffy like I did with my old pillow. And it's a great price for Organic Cotton.
The outside cover is organic cotton, however the filling is just cotton and not organic cotton, according to the tag on the pillow. I was disappointed that the pillow was not completly organic. But the pillow is still very nice and my son loves it. With the outside cover organic and an organic pillow case that should work just fine. But it you where wanting one that has the filling inside the pillow to be organic too, this is not the pillow. It does not tell you this in the information about the pillow, it is only on the tag that is attached to the pillow where it just states the filling as cotton, not organic cotton and it states the outside cover as organic cotton.
I'm not sure that the filling is organic because the package says it is, but the tag on the actual pillow says that the filling is 100% cotton and that the cover is 100% organic cotton. But, I like the pillow, and for the price, a little organic is better than none!
I would of rated higher but after I followed the directions on how to wash the pillow it pretty much was useless. Some of the cotton balled up and there are harder clumps in it which make it very uncomfortable to sleep on.... :(
This product has an organic outer layer but the filling is NOT organic. The Wal-Mart website says that both are organic but on the pillow it says that only the outer shell is. If you are looking for organic cotton pillow- keep shopping. If not, it is a nice pillow- it is just not what it is advertised to be.
the product advertised is NOT what i received. the box stated "natural" cotton fill and the tag only said "100% cotton". ONLY THE COVER is ORGANIC!! therefore, am unable to use this as bed pillow (reason purchased!) -- website needs to match the product actually being shipped!!! VERY UNHAPPY! if all you need is cotton, this'll will work fine for you -- but if you purchased it because you have SEVERE multiple chemical sensitivites and NEED ORGANIC ... do not buy this pillow. mine is now used as 'couch' pillow for husband.
