I recently received the Better Homes and Gardens Foaming Soap Pump in the Frost/Brushed Aluminum color. It's very stylish. I chose the frosted color because it fits with any decor. The dispenser is made of glass so it's heavy enough to stay in place when using the pump to dispense soap. I had used a foaming soap before from a non-refillable plastic dispenser. This dispenser delivers the same lovely foaming soap. The difference is that you can choose what type of soap to put in this dispenser. If you have a favorite scented soap or if you just use ordinary anti-bacterial soap from a giant refill bottle, both will work and dispense as foam. And if you want to change which one you are using, you can just change it up at the next refill. It's a huge bargain too. The ratio of soap to water is 1:5. So you fill the dispenser only 1/5 full of soap and then add 4 parts water. The cleaning power is still the same, but it results in a huge savings.
This is a beautiful small tray and can be used for almost any need. Right now, I have it as a centerpiece on my dining room table for my three candles which fit perfectly in it. In fact, I like it so well there that I may use it for that purpose for a few months. When I saw the first ad for it, I thought it would be perfect on my desk holding small items such as keys, pens, etc. It has a beveled edge so items can't fall or roll of the tray which is a great idea for this item. I do have a need of it on my dresser also since I knocked over a bottle of perfume a few weeks ago and some of the perfume seeped out taking the finish off the dresser. I think the soft pad on the bottom was a great idea of the manufacturer because it is impossible for it to make a scratch on my furniture. The pad keeps it from sliding. I think this little tray would make a great gift to bring along for a hostess or as a token of your appreciation in any case.
This is a very nice and nifty little soap dispenser. It's got an elegant brassy color and finish. There are two ridges. You pour in liquid soap up to the ridge at the base, and then pour water in up to the ridge at the neck of the dispenser. This makes a marvelous foam, offering the delight of rubbing into foam and the convenience of not having to wet your hands before applying soap. I think it's a pretty cool contraption and has worked well for me.
This foaming soap pump works great! It's frosted glass looks rather elegant and should go with almost any decor. You pour any liquid hand soap to the line indicated on the dispenser. Then you fill with water to the top line. This gives you a ratio of one part soap to 5 parts water. This is where the money-savings comes in. When you depress the plunger, foam comes out instead of plain liquid soap. This makes for a lighter, more even distribution of soap when washing your hands. One push on the plunger is enough if your hands are not really soiled. For dirtier hands, use more foam. You are still using way less liquid soap than with a standard non-foaming pump dispenser. If you buy the large refill bottles of liquid soap it should last you a long time. This foaming soap pump can also be used in the kitchen. Keep one next to the kitchen sink. Use liquid dish washing soap instead of hand soap with the same ratio of water. If you only have a couple coffee cups or just not enough dishes to warrant filling the sink with soapy water, just use a long-handled dish washing brush, pump a couple squirts of foam onto it and wash the few dishes. Quick and easy! I love this pump!
I dearly love the foaming soap dispensers and have one at every sink in the house but never liked the advertising on them. This Better Homes brushed nickel foaming soap pump dispenser blends so well with my stainless steel sinks and appliances in the kitchen making it doubly endearing. The bell shaped frosted glass weighs just enough to keep it upright when you press on the dispenser, giving you the reassuring feel of quality. This is totally unlike the lightweight plastic ones with the advertising all over them that can tip over when hurriedly used, especially if the liquid soap level is low. I purchase the inexpensive large bottles of the refill liquid and will be replacing my bathroom dispensers with ones like this soon!
This foaming soap pump container is by Better a homes and Garden. I have boughten products before from Better Homes and Graden and have always liked their merchandise. The one I chose was the Bronze finish this is an a very attractive soap container. This is made of a very sturdy solid glass construction. One thing I like about this soap pump, there is no guessing how much to fill the container to get the right amount of soap for the pump to work properly. There's a line at the bottom which is the A mark which you can fill with any liquid soap then at the top there's a mark which is line B, you put in one part soap to five parts water to give you the foaming soap. You can also use any foaming liquid soap refills. I haven't tried using just regular liquid soap as yet. The measurements I got were about 6 1/2 " in height and around the widest part with my tape measure is about 11 1/2". This is a little on the heavy side so be careful if kids use this. I for whatever reason thought this would be much bigger. It is sturdy, strong and good quality...just undersized. The bottom has a nice thick foam padding. I do not know what it would be used for...maybe makeup? Any if you need a good small padded tray....this is the one for you.
I have been using a Dawn Direct Foam dishwashing dispensor for a long time now. At first I was buying their refills but then I found out you could just use a little regular dish soap and water and it would work the same. I have been doing that for over a year and when I got the opportunity to get this, I thought it would be a nice upgrade. It does look much better and holds slightly more soap mixturebut there is a design flaw. Every time I use it, I have to pick it up and rinse it off because it always leaves a quarter inch of soap hanging out the end of the dispenser. I have tried a firmer push, a slower push and a half push and it still happens. It is not a terrible thing and I am still using it but I really wish it did not do that. The cheap plastic Dawn Direct Foam dispensor did not do that. I have included a couple of pictures.
BHG makes wonderful items for your home, I don't believe this one was worth their effort. A few things that turned me off to this item; first I had to deal with removing the label from the tray. Soaking for at least 30 minutes plus rubbing the glue off took time which allowed me to cuss the product before I had a chance of using it. Second, the more I looked at it the more it looked like a small baking sheet. The bronze color would have been a much better pick; I could see myself using it on the master bath vanity. The tray has a soft foam like rubber pad on the bottom so it won't scratch the surface you place it on. The tray isn't flimsy, is made well and has a little weight to it. The size is fairly large about 10”x 6”, which allows you to come up with different uses for it. The product itself is good, it's the brushed stainless color that does it no justice. I still can't get over how much it looks like a cookie sheet. I don't think I'll be displaying this tray for much of anything. It's going into my craft room as a catch all tray.
I've got to admit that my first impression of this vanity tray is that it resembled a part to my toaster oven! It is a very simple design, and I got it in the brushed nickel finish. The bronze finish probably would not be reminiscent of a toaster oven tray. It is also smaller than I had imagined. It measures 5-1/2" X 9-1/2. It's not what I expected because I've always used a larger, mirrored vanity tray for my perfume bottles on my dresser. On the plus side, it is very sturdy. It also has a thin foam cushion covering the entire bottom of the tray for traction and to prevent scratching delicate surfaces (a nice dresser top for example). There are no sharp edges on it at all. I also like the edges on the tray which make the tray 3/4" deep to keep small items like earrings and rings safe. I can see how this could be used in a variety of situations around the house: as a "catch-all" on the table by the front door, in the bathroom, on a man's or woman's dresser. The tray attracts magnets which could increase its versatility and creative uses.
