I have been having trouble with a blue her on. I put Gabby in my pond and was delighted with the results. The her on came, looked and walked on. So far only good results.
We have had problems with racoons using our backyard pool for all sorts of functions from washing their food to leaving a little racoon poo on the first step. A neighbor recommend the Bird-X Gator Guard and we thought that we would give it a try. The second night we put Artero (that's what we call him) in the pool for an evening patrol we heard a death curdling scream and the steps of a racoon making a mad dash over the pool fence. The critter may come back again but I doubt it. I like the fact that the gator free flots in the pool, doesn't get caught in the skimmer and his "twinkling" eye reflects from many different locations. He seems to be a great conversation starter for just about anyone that visits our house and looks into our pool area. Count us as a happy customer.
This product works very well and is realistic as it floats in the pool. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who has a similar problem.
I bought this product to scare away a pair of ducks that decided to make my pool their cement pond. Their feathers and droppings were making a mess in and around my pool. Received item in a couple of days. Assembly included snapping the rubber gator head to a plastic frame and putting included styrofoam floats on plastic frame. So far it is working great. We have not seen the ducks since the Gator Guard started standing watch. Sam's price was cheaper than other sites on the internet. The ad indicated that it comes with anchoring hardware. It does have a web loop attached to the frame to tie an anchor rope to, however, you have to buy your own anchor and rope. I bought an 8 lb kayak anchor and rope at a local sporting goods store. Anchor and rope allows gator guard to float around the pool with the wind but keeps it in the center of the pool.
Neat little item as long as you do not mind a rubber alligator head in your pond/pool. Had a problem with owls coming in to eat fish out of my pond, it does appear to keep them away. The eyes mimic real life animals so I think the glow keeps them away. It is larger than I expected, gets a lot of laughs but it works.
Ducks began landing in my pool. I then purchased this item . Used item as described and ducks still landed in the pool
Junk. Rolls over, would not stay upright. Ducks unafraid. Waste of money
