I've always worked with my hands and being well past 50, I've experienced every brand/type of wound care bandage because using the best means I can always do the job best. My hands (mostly) take quite a beating as I'm involved in construction & construction cleaning. I've never short-changed my ongoing search for the best, worry-free protection I could get, even to the point of chasing down the occassional Zee guy on the road for a supply. Someone in my office came across these Sport Stripos and popped them in the First Aid kit. I happened on them one day with a particularly nasty gouge out of my hand and haven't looked back since. Except for the occassional weirdly shaped or -placed wound, I find Band-Aid's Sport Strips give a superior performance for stick, flexibility, water reasistance and their ability to stand up to harsh abuse. Even when I have to get my hands wet, the pad doesn't start slipping around, which then loosens the "stick", guaranteeing I'm going to have to stop what I'm doing to put a new one on. I only wish Johnson & Johnson would make these in the knuckle and fingertip conformation; and perhaps in a larger patch for larger wounds. The performance and basic construction of this band-aid is second to none. WELL worth the higher price. And, NO, Johnson & Johnson didn't pay me to say this.
I work in a restaurant and we go through band-aids like water because the others don't stick very long , the only ones that work are the sport strips. the guys in the tank area are always cutting them self. can you please make a bigger box so please make a bigger box for companys
Can't heap any more praises on the Sport Strip than what others have already written here. They are the BEST par none for padding, protection, durability, and staying on securely! I cut my left index finger at the tip so deeply a few years back that I lost some of the fat in the pad of that finger. To compensate for the sensitivity when typing, I wear the small Sport Strip (5/8" x 2 1/4") around it. It's the perfect size and stays on so well, I don't have to change it for a week or more (given there's no wound or cut to tend to). Given my reliance on this particular size and bandage style, PLEASE, J&J, start offering the Sport Strip in both the large and small sizes in one package!!! I use very few, if any, of the other bandages in the Variety Pack (don't love the Tough Strips or the Water Block Plus!), yet that's the only way I can get the 10 small-sized Sport Strips that I wear on a weekly basis! I've tried just buying the large Sport Strips, but even cutting them down is not ideal. So combining the two sizes in one box not only makes more logical branding and packaging sense, it would be the "best of both worlds" for us Sports Strips devotees!
BAND-AID's cushion-care Sports Strips have everything you could possibly want in a Band-Aid.. It's made from a rubber-like material so it moves with your skin.. This Band-Aid will not stick to your wound because it has a non stick pad that covers your wound. Best Band-aid on the market and great for kids as well!!
These are wonderful for protecting already injured bumps and scrapes, but really do not stay on well in areas that are flexed and moved a lot. They are perfectly soft and cushioned and the pad is nice and thick for deep cuts and wounds, I just wish they stayed on better. I will not be repurchasing these as I prefer other Band-aid bandages that have better wear and longevity for the same or less cost.
Please bring back the old sports strips! These used to stay on through golf and other sports in humid weather and washing, and they provided a thick barrier and reliable protection. Now they come off easily and are flimsy and thin. To me, they used to be the best bandage on the market. Now they are no better than the cheapest brand. It is discouraging that a reputable company like Bandaid would surrender customer satisfaction to the bottom line (i.e., profit)!
This isn't them. They used to come in several sizes: small, tiny square, large square, regular size... this isn't even the same. The old ones stayed on, they didn't fray in minutes of applying, and they didn't stay soaked from washing hands. I do t bother with bandaids anymore unless absolutely necessary because of bleeding. They're more likely to cause infection than prevent it with how shoddy they are.
I have been using J&J Sport strips for years. Just recently, I purchased 2 new boxes. The changed product is terrible. The foam padding is thin, the perforations in the foam make it tear when you try to remove it and the adhesive is so sticky that you have to rub your skin for a few minutes to remove all of the bandage. After years of being a loyal purchaser of ONLY the sport strip, I'll be looking for another bandage that works better for me. So sad and disappointing! This bandage should have been marketed and sold as a new product, and not replace a great one.
Band-Aid Sport Strips "WERE" the "BEST" bandages ever made. I would buy two to three boxes at a time (home/work/car) just to ensure that I would never be without them, because I am accident-prone. They were perfect in EVERY way, easy to remove from paper packaging, perfect amount of cushioning, adhesive remained strong even after getting wet and lastly easy to remove when needing to be replaced. HOWEVER, that is NOT the case NOW! They tear very easily when trying to remove paper wrapper, cushion is terribly thin, when wet they loose their adhesion, but in a way that it literally falls apart in pieces and then it is hard as heck to remove all the little pieces. At first I thought I bought a knock off brand with clever labeling, but after careful inspection ( to my utter surprise and complete disappointment) they were genuine Band-Aid Brand. Needless to say I returned the opened box as well the two additional boxes I had purchased. Reason given: Dissatisfaction WHY would you change such an awesome product?!? These are the ONLY bandages I have ever bought since discovering them some 10 to 15 years ago! I assure you I will not buy another box, they are no better than a dollar store brand. Unfortunately now I have to start searching for the perfect band aid with all the fore mentioned characteristics: Easy access, thick padding, water resistant and quality adhesive. I truly hope that Band-Aid Brand decides to return to the method of manufacturing of Sports Strip as they once did. It "WAS" the very "BEST" and most "EXCELLENT" band aid product ever made! Most kindly, Wade
I'm having a bad allergic reaction to this product. Weeping blisters that itch terribly. The rash is in the exact area of the adhesive. What could possibly be in the product that caused this.
