The router was easy to setup after creating an account. The instructions manual which was downloaded from the site was handy, but really not needed for the setup. The setup was easy due to the on-screen information and easy to fill fields. This router is connected to my carrier's gateway using the IP pass-through method, thus it assigned a WAN IP to the router so I could create a separate network. The Asus RT-AX88U Pro is powerful. It covered more square footage with higher signal levels than the gateway installed by my carrier. I love its enhanced security features, which are standard and at no additional cost to the user, unlike other router manufacturers that charge a fee for such services. This is an outstanding router and highly recommended. It delivers the features and performance as advertised and seen in online reviews.
This router improves on its predecessor the RT-AC88U with faster wireless link speeds, a couple 2.5G ethernet ports, and better compatibility on the 2.4GHz band. I had issues previously trying to connect my security camera with, but this new router handled it no problem. I've had it for a couple weeks and have no problems to report.
Awesome router! If you have 1G speeds from you service provider, the 2.5G wan port from this device will help get the speeds you deserve from your connection. The firmware and management software on this thing is amazing and responsive. Well worth the purchase!
The RT-AX88U Pro is incredible! Setup and configuration are straight-forward with MANY options! I configured WAN aggregation paired with my Motorola MB8600 and now I get 1.2 Gbps DL speeds and because all ports support 2.5Gbps, my entire wired LAN is 2.5Gbps and I get 1.2Gbps speeds on all wired systems. Wireless is working beautifully and all the security features are outstanding! It runs cool, looks cool, and just WORKS perfectly!!
Upgraded from the AC68u to the AX88U Pro to accommodate new fiber Internet after 8 years of reliable service with the ac68u. Had to get another premium Asus router as they are the best at home grade routers. Couldn't be happier!
After 10 years of excellent performance (still performing) from a ASUS RT-AC68U AC1900 Dual Band Gigabit WiFi Router, I decided to upgrade, after looking at the different Models (considering my use is a home network), I choose the RT-AX88U Pro AX6000 Dual Band WiFi 6 Router. The AX88U PRO has many new features and amazing speed enhancements not to mention a faster processor with 4 cores instead of 2, and the 2 core processor in the RT-AC68U was really fast in it's day. Setup was a breeze, just reset your modem, then turn on the router with your ethernet cables connected, and boom, setup screen shows up on your computer monitor and except for new ASUS Router Web/Remote access now being a web address instead of the IP address, and a minor change in the the new IP addresses from 192.168.1.100 to the new format 192.168.50.100. Setup was a breeze, Range is much better for WIFI, Web speed regarding loading pages and such, is much faster regarding Ethernet and WIFI, many more features and improvements to list............. Fantastic Router, Incredible Upgrade, ASUS does it again ! I choose this Router as it has the features and priceline I wanted, yes there arew even better ones to choose but they are much more expensive and rightfully so as they are primarily used for large networks with very large client and network demands, considering this is for a home network, it is perfect, has much better WIFI coverage, faster LAN performance and you will notice the difference across the board !
Your app for setting up the router is problematic. Setup the account then named the Wifi and router. Firmware updated. Then stuck at at Username and password for Web GUI. Connected router to computer with ethernet cable turned on Trend Micro. Overall Wifi and ethernet speed are quite good. But unable to progress further through your app.
I like the increased control and interface options ove the AC3200 it replaced. I would like to have seen the tri-band that the 3200 had though and I have also noticed that the signal reach seams less than the 3200. Also, there should really be an option to mount to the wall, not having that limits the placement due to overall size.
My 1st Asus router. Easy setup ,great tech support, no long wait on phone and great signal, with no dead spots in my home. The only reason I rated this router a 4 star is because there is an issue with Apple OS and strong password criteria. This is a know issue on Asus forum.
Everything I need (really more than I need) in a well executed package and user interface. Would be 5 star but DHCP lease / static IP management is a little flakey as well as dual LAN failover / failback with a tethered phone.
