I have been using a famous 3 step acne kit for a couple of weeks, and my skin was getting very dry, irritated, flaky all over, red, itchy. It burned to put on any moisturizer after the 3 step system. I stopped using it and switched to Ultra Gentle face wash and cream, and gave my skin a break from makeup and other products. This helped heal my skin quickly, within probably 3 or 4 days my skin looked much better. I may not repurchase this cream, though. I don't mind the scent at all, it's pleasant, but maybe too strong. The cream is too thick-feeling for me personally, like butter-consistency where I like more lighter texture. I wear it only at night, it doesn't make me oily. I would recommend this cream for people with dry, sensitive, irritated skin. It's good quality and affordable, but I will probably try a different Neutrogena moisturizer when this one runs out.
This cream actually seems to reduce redness instantly. I just wish you had left out the fragrance. To me it smells like cheap perfume. Otherwise, I would have rated it as excellent.
I'm not sure if it makes the skin less sensitive, but it does make it smother. I'm not a fan of the smell and I don't think it's worth the cost. I won't be buying it again. But considering how much it cost, I'm using this jar until it's gone.
Not only is the strong fragrance surprising for a product designed for people with sensitive skin, but I found my skin to feel tight after using it. I typically love Neutrogena products but this misses the mark.
The smell of this cream is so overwhelming that it actually makes my eyes water. It was a huge disappointment. I would have liked it if it weren't for the fragrance.
This is an awesome cream that you had to go & ruin with whatever that disgusting fragrance is supposed to be... I applied this to my face before bed, I could not take the smell. I was literally getting a headache & had to get up & rewash my face & use the oil free sensitive lotion since that is truly fragrance free. Bad idea to add fragrance to a product that is 'Ultra Gentle.'
I don't know if this product will do what it says because I was only able to use it one time. I knew immediately that the fragrance was strong, but hoped it would fade in a few minutes. Unfortunately, it did not. I won't be able to use this again. It's a great idea, and I hope you will produce it in a fragrance free version for those of us who are sensitive. I have been a Neutrogena user since I was a teenager (age 50 plus now) and I will continue to use your other great products.
I have sensitive skin. I use other products from Neutrogena and they don't have this smell. The fragrance in this product was horrible. I couldn't stand it so ended up throwing it out.
I purchased this product because my regular moisturizer has been discontinued. I puchased Ultra Gentle Soothing Cream because it was designed for sensitive skin. "Sensitive" can also mean that a person is sensitive to 'perfumy' smells. I had to wash my face within 10 minutes of applying this moisturzing cream because the odor was so poweful. The lotion itself seems to be adequate, but they need to remove the perfume.
I bought this today at the drug store, was really in need of a non-spf night moisturizer for sensitive and reactive skin. I was hesitant to try it when I got home because of the fragrance, which is not a good sign for a "soothing" product. Within 2 minutes my neck and face turned red and started to itch. I'll be returning the product tomorrow. Disappointed this was anything but gentle and soothing.
