This is awesome! Great value tons of jewelry options and hours of entertainment. My 6 year old loves it and is able to make most of the jewelry with minimal supervision. I even made some pieces with her! There is so much in this pack it is unbelieveable.
My God-daughter loved this, in fact we are getting more for her birthday this month, she made 2 lovely rings and many other items for her friends. Kept her busy and she smiled all day showing off her new jewelry items.
We made unlimited jewelry. Crayola jewelry bonus pack includes 11 beautiful colors, dryer and spinner etc. It made beautiful lockets also kids had lot of fun. It will be a great gift for 6 to 10 year old girls.
My daughter loved making the beads for this jewelry but the clay never fully hardened. Even with the glaze that comes with it, the beads were still pliable. I'd recommend using a different type of clay that can either harden in the air or bake in the oven. The Mega Pack has lots of jewlery making extras and I thought this was a great bargain.
Bought this for my niece for Christmas...she loves it. I can't really get into more detail about the quality of the product only because I never saw it. From a seven year olds perspective it's great.
This was a great fun activity to use with a 5 year old. She loved making the beads, but we had a hard time getting them to dry out completely. It took a while and patience is not something that little ones are always good about...or even big ones. Maybe for an older child whoo has learned to wait or maybe to try other clays that dry quicker. The tools themselves were great and it was overall a great value for the price.
You need yo be very creative and patient for this activity.The instructions were confusing.I've had a hard time trying to figure out how to use the machine and make the different jewelry.I had to get my husband to help me and my daughter figure it out.It is very time consuming you have to let the clay dry 24hrs before you can make anything.We've had it a couple weeks and have still not made any jewerly because I've not had enough time to mess with it.
Out of the box this kit was very exciting for both myself and my two daughters, 9 and 7. Once they slowed down enough to let me read the directions, using the bead spinner was fun and made cool designs for beads. However, I don't know how they expect you to come out with cone shaped beads because as soon as you try to poke the hole the bead always turns out round. Still, we were enjoying making a variety of multicolored round beads of different sizes. We put most beads on the peacock dryer overnight, like the instructions said. It also indicated you could lay them on wax paper, which worked for drying the beads but not painting them with the glossy coating as it pooled underneath and stuck to the wax paper. Even after 48 hours, the beads were still soft enough to reshape, not hard like the instructions said. Painting them with the gloss finish on the peacock dryer didn't work much better than the wax paper, as it was hard to get enough gloss to stay on without dripping onto the beads below. The necklace charms and fasteners are a good idea, but the rings stick out more than 3/4 of an inch on your finger. In order to get the putty into the necklace charms completely you have to use your fingers, which leave fingerprints on the finished product. I would not recommend buying this kit, there are many other craft kits out there my children would prefer for jewelry making.
I was so excited to make jewelry with my 5 year old but this jewelry set did not capture her interest. This may be better for 6 or 7 year old. She did have fun using the spinner but it was hard to keep the shape of the cone. There are a lot of accessories that are included to make necklaces and bracelets but my 5 year old didn't want to assemble any of them herself.
This is definitely not what we expected. Basically it's play dough, that you make beads with for jewelry. EXCEPT that the dough never dries! The instructions say to allow to dry over night, ours has been out for four days and it still isn't dry. Very disappointed :(
