I give the Norelco 5000 series 4 stars only because I don't use the attachments and have no need too because I shave my head and face with it. It's much more quieter than my previous Braun series 3 and shaves just as well if not better. It can be used wet or dry but I only use it on dry skin unless I want it to be razor smooth shave & then I'll use the preshave oil lectric shave that is green in color and it's even more smoother and comfortable of a shave. Battery life is phenomenal, fit's well in my hand and had no trouble at all taking hair from my head when I haven't shaved in 3 days. With a 3 day growth I can have a smooth shave and be finished within a few minutes . I actually like it so well I bought 2 5000 series, the 5000 and the 5000x. Both use same blades and interchangeable, only difference one is slim and the 5000 is more rounded in the hands. The 5000x is slim with a good non slip grip but both are awesome when you have sensitive skin and want a clean comfortable shave like a blade gives without the mess and time it takes to get it smooth. Hope my review helps someone cause it's an honest review and I not being paid or promoted for giving this review.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like this shaver and it moves smoothly and light weight. Wash sign blink every time and I wash it often and keeps clean. I recently replaced blades and feels back original smooth shaves. I have this shaver like a year now and I don't have any problem.
I had not used an electric razor for many decades and thought I would like to have the convenience of an electric razor. I researched many razors and decided to try this Norelco. I was tempted to order the more expensive electric razors but decided this would do...and the price was right. I ordered it and had it delivered in two days. I have used it once and love it. I can't understand how a more expensive razor could be better. No more blade razors. I can use it dry and it takes just a short period of time. Pleased with the results.
Nice close shave wish it came with a case to hold the shaver
My husband purchased this model at a local Walmart about 2 years ago, however the battery is not holding a charge. Is this the normal life expectancy of the battery?
This is fairly basic version of a Norelco shaver. It does have the wet feature that I do not use often. First use, I was a bit shocked at the quietness or lack of motor power. It is just a light shaver and makes you think that it won`t work well. That isn`t necessarily the case. I was surprised how quickly it did cut and clear the hair. It is particularly good in hard to get areas as the three spinning blades mold to your face. One thing that I did notice after the first week using is that it isn`t as close of a cut as I was used to as you are not able to adjust the closeness of the shave. Five o`clock shadow certainly became more visible. I also like to pop out the trimmer at times while shaving and it is a huge inconvenience to have to take the head off to put on the trimming head. The trimmer didn`t actually work exceptionally well either. Charging and battery life were perfectly fine. I can see this product being a good fit some someone without a full face of hair, like perhaps a teen getting into the game or perhaps a shaver I would pack for travel. All in all, I would consider it an entry level shaver.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My shaver takes forever to get a clean close shave. I noticed on the 9 series that the shaving heads are made different. Can I get those heads to get a clean close shave compared to the original heads on my machine. Please advise, Thank you.
Bought this to replace a 3000 series because of the ergonomic design and pivoting heads and have to say it left me looking like a botched mess cut was sporadic at best would absolutely not recommend
