Bought this during 7 hr power outage because of sump pump. Worked great very happy with it. Very easy on gas
Thrilled with this unit. Works well and isn't too noisy. Havent downloaded the app yet to turn it on/off but am excited about that feature.
Honda engine is the only way to go. At this price it is the only thing to buy.
WELL,I HAVEN'T TRIED IT YET. I INSTALLED A TRANSFER SWITCH TO MY BREAKER BOX.HOOKED UP 8 CIRCUITS,BUT I HAVEN'T HOOKED UP THE GEN YET.I DID INSTALL THE WHEELS ADDED OIL AND GAS, HOOKED UP THE BATTERY,WHICH WAS NO PROBLEM,STARTED IT AND BY THE WAY,IT STARTED RIGHT UP AND SOUNDS GREAT.AS I SAY SO FAR SO GOOD. I ALSO DOWNLOADED THE APP,WHICH SEEMS TO REALLY WORK GOOD.I PLAN TO TEST IT IN THE NEXT WEEK OR SO.SAMS DOES HAVE A GOOD PRICE.I CHECKED SEVERAL OTHER SITES.HOPE THIS HELPS.
This generator is a power house! We love it. The only downside is...... It's HEAVY! It's very economical on fuel. Saved our butts in the 2018 December Snow Storm
I bought this for an upcoming hurricane and sure enough, it was put to use! Powered everything I needed to include our water system! A lifesaver and great generator for the money!
So this is an out of the box review. First, this thing is HEAVY. It will take 2 strong people to get it loaded and unloaded. Assembly was very straightforward except one of the front bump stop holes was undersize and had to be drilled out just a little. We fueled it with stabilized Ethanol free fuel today an fired it up. You need to remember to turn on the run switch on the Honda engine or it won't start. It think you can leave this on after that unless you are pull starting. The engine fired right up and we put a small 120 volt load on it. The MaXcontrol panel is really nice to see the status of load and remaining time. One thing about paring the Bluetooth. I tried pairing like I would other devices by just pushing the pair button and waiting for it to show up on my phone. This doesn't work. You need to pair through the MaXcontrol app on your phone. This worked flawlessly. You see in the pic below that the 120v outlet has safety covers over the slots. It took everything I had to push the plug in. I looked at the instructions but didn't see further information on this. For me, the jury is still out on the hand truck style handles. I have used the other style handles and thought this would be a great improvement, but it seems kind of hard to control. You definitely have to keep your foot on the rear cross brace when tipping back to prevent it from rolling back against you. I think advantage could be in taking it long distances, like across the street to the neighbors after a storm. Also, I am not sure how long the front bump stops will hold up. They kind of take a beating when you land the beast. My next step when I get time is to make a whole house connection and do some 240 volt load testing before we get our first hurricane here in FL.
Went to start the generator and it worked with the recoil. Did not start with electric start. After calling the company and spending around 5 hours trying to see what was wrong. The electrical panel was never attached and there were unattached wires in the switch area. Had to trace every wire back. Location of some components were not as shown on the diagram. Finally I got the electric start fixed and it runs great.
Entire quart of oil emptied out from the top to the bottom of the generator. I believe that Sam's had them stacked one on top of the other and it crushed the bottle. I wasn't returning the entire product, so I had to get new instruction packet , clean and wipe down the entire generator , the back of my Jeep , my garage floor and ruined my shirt. I have oil spots on my driveway and garage. It was just a mess. Then, the one hole for the rubber foot was too small and I had to drill it out to get the bolt to fit. After all that, the generator started easily, ran relatively quiet and love the Bluetooth control.
Doesn't work right out of the box
