This documentary about the making of the album The Deep End by Gov't Mule -- in which an all-star cast of bassists pitched in to pay tribute to late group founder Allen Woody -- gets a basic treatment on DVD. Gov't Mule: Rising Low has been transferred to disc in its original full-frame aspect ratio of 1.33:1, and the audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital 2.0. The disc features no subtitles, closed captioning, or additional bonus material, but the improved sound quality and easy access to individual performances will doubtless please fans who've upgraded to DVD.
