I just recently got this set and so far I am in love. They are very durable and and extremely nice looking. They are on the heavy side but manageable. I have used them numerous times since I purchased them and they are excellent to cook with. Yes you have to follow the direction on how to use Stainless Steel and they do very well at not sticking and clean up is easy. Highly recommend.
I Love my new Calphalon Premier Space-Saving Stainless Steel Set!! I bought the Premier set to replace my 30 year old Calphalon set, which was a wedding gift!! I Love the space saving aspect of these. It is a Great added feature!
Premier collection is the best. Heavy with bottoms that stay flat and cook evenly.
These are the best pots and pans I have ever owned! I was a cook in my younger years in some of the finer restaurants in Lake Tahoe and Seattle. I have owned the Calphalon anodized aluminum as well as a three layer stainless set from their competitor. I have no real complaints about those sets but this stackable set is my favorite. The set is beautiful and they have a nice assortment of sizes to meet most of my needs. I may want to buy the 8qt stockpot later. The stacking feature is great, I can fit the entire set in my deep pull out cabinet drawer. The cookware looks great. Each piece has stainless steel pieces attached with notches to help them line up for stacking and it gives them a rugged look. The lid notches will line up when on the pot but they don't need to, you can swing the handle anywhere and it still seals fine. I will say it is smart to line up the lid handle over the pot handle to keep it cool. The pans are great but the lids turned out to be the secret surprise of the set. Most lids are dome shaped and you must use a pot holder to pick them up because the handle is right over the heat. Then, when you put them on the counter they leave a circle of water from the steam. Not so with these lids. Because most of them have a long handle, you can pick up the lid with a bare hand. Then you simply flip the lid over and set it down on the counter upside down. No mess, no burn! You can also see your food through the glass lid which means no lifting when you are making rice etc. I would like to address a few complaints by other reviewers: These pans do not stain any worse than other stainless pans. Yes, when cooking certain foods like rice or beans, there will be a light stain after they come out of the dishwasher. All stainless steel pans do this. All you need to do is use a bit of Bar Keeper's Friend cleanser and they will look like new. Some people complain about food sticking to the pans. I have made dozens of different dishes in these pans now and you would have to work hard to get something to stick. I can even make eggs in the pans and they don't stick. To be fair it is a little harder to make eggs in a stainless pan but if you know how to heat the pan, add the butter and then put in the eggs, it will work like a high end non-stick pan. I also see complaints about hot handles. These handles only get hot after prolonged use over the heat source. They have a 'Y' at the base to help dissipate heat and I have never had to use a heat mitt to touch them. They are made of stainless steel and conduct heat the same as any other stainless handle. If you put them in the oven or broiler, yeah, they are gonna be hot! Sorry for the long review but I just want to say these pans are great. My only complaints are; the lids have a lip on the top side which catches water in the dishwasher, so when you take them out you have to wipe a few drops out. Also, like most stainless pans, the inner layer of aluminum is exposed at the pan edge. This means the dishwasher soap will erode the aluminum and after time there will be a gap at the edge. I don't know of any multi layer pans that don't have this problem. Enjoy!
I own this set. It is beautiful and cooks everything in a flash. I clean it with Barkeeper's Friend. I recenty purchased the same set for my daughter. She loves it and says it is "gorgeous". Thank you, Calphalon!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this set after extensive research and the space saving design as well as the lids really helped me make my decision. They have some weight to them but it feels comfortable, and I'm so happy to have a stainless steel set now! I know these will last me a long time.
I wanted to love everything about these. I bit the bullet and ALOT for these. I've only used two pans from the set so far but everything burns on the bottom and is a nightmare to clean. I'd had to use enormous of oil to fry potatoes which left them super greasy and I ended up throwing most of them out.
Cleans terribly, constantly looks not only dirty but filthy. Tried all the recommended cleaning techniques, 1 single use leaves them looking nasty.
In terms of space saving and beauty - 5 stars hands down! Unfortunately, the color of the interior changed from day 1 of using them. However, I was able to get a replacement for “non-stick” pans. DO NOT PURCHASE IF YOU WANT NON-STICK. Search for non-stick instead.
Me as house new owner wanted everything good and new I did purchased and so exited waited at house to be done build and finally follow instruction carefully use one and what big disappointment wanted to cry for real, I haven't used all the pots and pans and on these pictures they are already cleaned as I supposed to, I love the look and storage, I don't mind the price if they work as supposed
