Hope [CD]

David Azarian was born in Armenia and now lives, plays and teaches in the Boston area. He has classical and jazz training, both of which inform his beautiful playing on this, his debut album for Enja. In addition to his compositional skills, he proves himself a worthy and appealing interpreter of standards by Gershwin, Porter and Van Heusen. This recording was recorded during a live performance on "The Jazz Songbook," a show on the NPR station WGBH from Boston.
