It is very heavy so takes two people to handle and put together. My husband and I took our time, read directions first then followed them step by step. It went together easily. It took us about 3 hrs to put it together but we did not rush. We were careful to follow the directions and make sure before we actually committed to that step. The armoire looks great in our living room and I have an entertainment center where I can shut the door on the TV so it is not the focal point of the room....a fung shei issue. It is well worth the price and looks great. I would definitely recommend it.
I purchased this unit for my family room because I hate seeing an exposed TV. The TV opening says fits maximum 39" wide TV and they weren't kidding. Most 40" flat screens were 39.3" wide at least and the nexty option was to go down to a 37" TV. I got lucky and found a Westinghouse 40" LCD at Sam's Club that was exactly 39" wide and even has a built in DVD player. It fits with not a hair to spare and I'm thrilled with both.
This was product was a good value. The other armoires I looked at (online, but not at Wal-Mart) were much more expensive and I couldn't find a finish that would go with my mix of modern and antique furniture. I put this together by myself with no trouble (and though I am very handy, this is a heavy piece and I am a small female). I did have some help lifting it upright and into position once it was built. The only difference I can really see between it and more expensive pieces is that the upper back is that cardboard type stuff and not wood, but you can't tell once it is together and it is VERY sturdy. The only thing I don't like about it is that the rear "feet" are not the bun feet that are on the front, but I could tell that from the pictures before I bought it. I also bought metal drawer pulls for the doors instead of using the wooden ones that come with the unit. When I first unpacked it, I thought the finish looked cheap, but it actually looks really good once it is together. It certainly looks much more expensive that it was. I was very pleased with this purchase.
I've only had this for about 3 weeks so far but it's great. First, it is really heavy!!! You will need someone to help you pick it up from the store. Having said that I was able to put it together by myself (not trying to stereotype but I am a 26 year old female if that puts things into better perspective). Once I got the thing in my place I was able to pull the pieces out and scoot them around fairly easily. Second, assembling it was a very easy process. Make sure you read through the directions... they're thorough for a reason. There are a lot of opportunities to do things wrong/backwards/upside down. But, if you pay attention to the directions the entertainment center should come together just fine. The one thing that frustrated me was hanging the doors. It took me about an hour to get them to hang completely level and as soon as I moved it they were tweaked again. Oh well, I guess that's one of the things you sign up for when deciding to buy furniture you have to build your self. Lastly, It looks really nice, dark brown with some faux distressing that looks good. I'll probably switch out the handles for something a little nicer. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase and would absolutely recommend it.
This TV cabinet is fantastic and well worth every dollar! It looks more high quality than the photo displayed, it's extremely sturdy, and fulfilled every requirement admirably. Don't get flustered by the assembly, just take your time and pull everything out and assemble it in your head first, the directions are adequate but a few more details would have been nice. Overall, I wish there were more pieces to go with this, I love it!
This armoire is a great deal for the price. It looks very nice and durable. Also has more extra space than I expected...lots of room for storing movies, video games...etc. Although it does require assembly it was worth it because of the lower price. Overall we are very pleased with our purchase.
I love this item. I ordered an entire new system including the matching towers and it looks great in my house. It was so wasy to put together and took about 3 hours. I am a female and did it myself. Fits 40" Sony Bravia perfectly.
I am very satisfied with my purchase. As stated in previous reviews the doors are uneven but I think this is in the design...for so many customers to have the same experience. Looks very classy. I would recommend it to others. I had it delivered to my apartment. It took me a little longer than 3 hrs. to put it together because I had no help....but this female did it!!!!
Dark brown/black with hints of warn areas to give that rustic feel. Sturdy. Good price for product.
Overall I would definitely recommend buying this armoire. Putting it together was actually pretty easy. Think it took us around 3 hours. There was only one dinged spot and that was inside the cabinet where the TV goes. My only complaint came at the very end of assembly. Neither set of doors line up exactly right. It isn't that noticeable thank goodness, but that's what kept me from giving the armoire five stars. Bottom line is it looks great-------love it!!!!!
