This is our first Roof Top Tent and we have been blown away by the Kukenam. The tent is very comfortable and fairly easy to put up and down. The installation was okay overall, I found the instructions decent. When I ran into issues I opened a support ticket with Thule and they stood behind the product. Support was fairly quick, understood my issue, and quickly resolved it by sending me the needed part. Solid 5 out of 5 stars for this tent and Thule for standing behind their products with good support.
Not sure yet. It's a gift for my son who is in Kuwait in the Army, coming home in 2 weeks to celebrate Xmas !
I just got the tent and mounted it the same day. The install was easy; after watching the video online. The first setup was simple, and everything worked like it is supposed to work. The construction is solid. The matress is comfortable. There is plenty of room for my wife and I. I look forward to using it on a trip in a couple of weeks.
Purchased this a couple months back. Has performed awesome!! I have a 22 Subaru forester wilderness and it is such a great accommodation for camping. Assembly was easy, everything is well thought out by Thule. Mattress is a little firm but I like that. Took 2-3 mpg off but not bad at all. Love the versatility and ease of set up/tear down. Couldn't be happier with this thing. I purchased the single shoe bag to go with this and it was well worth it. Ready to camp any day/anytime/any where. Even did great through a wicked rain storm! You will not be disappointed with this set up.
We got the Thule Tepui Explorer tent this summer to explore New England with our 1-year-old puppy more often and could not recommend it enough! It was super easy to install and is faster to set up than a regular tent. On our first night trying it out in Acadia, there was a big rainstorm that came through and we stayed warm and dry in the tent the whole night. The mattress is comfy and roomy, too - it made a great first travel bed for our dog, who didn't want to leave in the morning!
Easy to assemble, strong against harsh weather, super cool and super easy on a daily basis.
I can't wait to get this out in the woods! Ordered and received in timely manner. Quality packing with zero issues with delivery. Mounting and assembly is simple and seamless if you follow the instructions or watch the video. When I opened it for the first time, my life changed. I love it! Quality components and materials. Form follows function design. The sleeping pad isn't bad. I'll use it first and judge afterward. Just impressed with it overall. Great purchase, can't wait to get camping. Thank you Thule!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As someone who camps solo, having a rooftop tent that is easy to set up without assistance was important to me! It's so easy to set up and take down, and only takes 5-10 minutes for each!
I built a bed rack to mount my Tepui roof tent to. We were skeptical of the size for the two of us.. I am a large 50yr old 330lb 6'2” man with two new knees. Yes I am a big guy. My wife and I fit comfortably in the tent! First night was a lil rough for me the sleeping pad was not sufficient for me. We bought a self inflating air mattress that fit perfectly in the tent and that made all the difference for the second night! We are just getting started with overlanding and looking forward to more! My only issue is I wish the travel cover was easier to get on but that's part of saving money and not buying a hard shell.
I was really excited about this tent until I realized things were crawling in the entire time we were using it. The set up is pretty easy and otherwise we liked the tent. But once we noticed these large gaps, we did some research and realized there were hook loops closures. Using that still didn't keep these gaps closed. Things can still crawl right in. Will be returning this product.
