After leaving AT&T, I tried a VOIP system that just didn't work for me. Have had Straight Talk now for 2 weeks and I am very happy with it. You get all the features that AT&T provides at a very much lower cost. It has been dependable for me with very good performance.
The phone company charged about $50 per month, without long distance calling. This system costs only $15 per month, including unlimited long distance. Do the math. The only problem with this system is, if you order it from Walmart.com, you have to take it to a Walmart store, because they are shipped without being scanned and they must be scanned, before you can use them.
I assumed I would correctly set up the unit. Then I completely read the instructions. The unit was correctly operating soon after I read the instructions. System operated as advertised. Thank you Walmart.
We purchased this wireless home system to keep a land line for a fraction of the cost. The calls are clear, we use our existing home phone and the cost is affordable. Overall it is a win,win purchase.
I like the fact that there is no need to "bundle" in order to get a decent price. Also, there are no extra fees added.
This is a great alterative to those expensive costs for a home phone. Verizon was charging me $45 a month including taxes for basic local phone service with no call forwarding, caller ID, 3-way calling, voicemail and no long distance. This Straight Talk home phone by Huawei works great. It operates off the Verizon wireless towers and gives me all the extras and nationwide calling for under $16 a month including taxes. Setup was quick, and they ported my old number in about 24 hours with no problem. I would recommend this home phone system to anyone who has a cell signal from Verizon at their home.
I didn't have to cut corners, I even got extra, three way calling, call waiting, call forwarding, unlimited calls, caller ID and great service and I didn't even have to change my phone number. Highly recommend this and get rid of Frontier or any other service thats overcharging you.
This is my second one of these (I bought one for myself and liked it so much, I bought one for my mother.) The sound quality is just like a regular landline phone. It makes your landline phone work like a cell phone, and you can take your home number with you anywhere, even to another state, like I did, just like with a cell phone. You don't have to use the answering service that comes with the unit, if you prefer to use your own answering machine, but if you are on your phone and someone calls, their message will go to the unit, which you can easily retrieve with a 4-digit code you choose. It's like having a backup answering machine. You can't beat the $15 price for unlimited local and long distance.
Works great and we live in a rural area. Cut our phone bill from $63 with Verizon to $16 and change with this service.
Item worked fine in the end, but the initial unit arrived unactivated. Since the unit ID was not scanned and activated before being shipped to me, it could not be registered for use. I had to take the unit I received to the local store and exchange it for a new one that was properly activated. All went well from there.
