My granddaughters were very surprise when I gave them this TV, they enjoy watching programs they like, also playing the dvd. They get a kick out of the cute remote control made like a magic wand We don't have cable, so I had to buy a digital antenna this helps alot. With the owners manual from the tv you shouldn't have a problem.
This product was great. I ordered it direct to store and came a week earlier than I expected - worth the savings on shipping. The TV, DVD, & Remote Wand work perfect. I was hesitant at first after reading all of the reviews about the DVD player not opening and people saying they had to return it before they used it but those people are just people that didn't know how to use the TV right! When we hooked it up I pushed the button to open the DVD player and it did nothing. My heart sunk because I thought all those people were right about it not working and my 5 year old was so excited. But after a little work with the Menu - we realized for the DVD player to open you have to have it in DVD MODE!!! Simple fix and it opened right up. Working great so far = my daughter loves it!!
I bought this for my grandaughter for Christmas. In reading the reviews of the sound not working i was skepical. I ordered it anyway and tested it and it works fine. The detail on this TV is absolutly beautiful. I will haveone happy little girl this Christmas. Thanks Walmart.
I have only had the TV for about a week but so far we are in love. I actually bought one for each of my daughters and they are super cute and work great. We watch movies together and the picture is fantastic. It is a very bulky and heavy tv which is my only complaint. Make sure you have a large space for this tv and keep it low to the ground because it would be very harmful if it fell.
Very cute tv/DVD... And also very heavy... Just using it for dvd's right now... So not sure about tv yet... Bought for my granddaughter and she loves the fairy style but it is very bulky... About the size of an old computer...
I know that it has only been a week, but so far everything has been working perfectly. It is a big heavy tv. But, my grand daughter wanted it for her room, and it is very cute. I would have preferred to buy a flat screen for her, but that isn't what she wanted. She is 6. She has been watching movies on it and loves it. Screen is very clear and sharp with DVD's, I haven't seen it in the tv mode yet. Remote is cute also.
Our first time getting this, we opened it up. The DVD player would not even open. I felt VERY bad for my daughter, who was soooo excited & had to wait 2 weeks just to get, then it does not even work. I DID order again, so hoping better this time. We will se....
We bought this product online from Walmart because they didn't sell it anywhere in our area for our daughters seventh birthday. I should have paid more attention to the reviews I guess which is my fault for not doing so, however when we received the TV we plugged it in turned it on for our daughter and it started right up, but not even five seconds later shut itself off and wouldn't turn back on!! Thinking that it may have a reset button somewhere we checked the manual, checked the whole television over and nothing!! We even tried putting batteries in the remote to see if that may be the problem, and still nothing!! This was the only item we bought for my daughters birthday(who is totally devistated....) and we ourselves are very dissatisfied and furious that we paid this amount of money for a child's tv when we could have spent the same amount on a regular one!!!!!! PLEASE ALWAYS READ THE REVIEWS!! That is what we learned from this purchase!!!!
I purchased this television on Oct 20, 2011 for Christmas for my 7 year old daughter. It has a standard 90 day warranty and I did not purchase an extendand one. I should have. My daughter has been using this tv since Christmas Day (12/25) and as of yesterday (2/22/12), it is broke. She did nothing to it, it just turned off and started making a 'clicking' noise. It will no longer turn on. Because the warranty is 90 days from purchase, it expired a couple weeks ago. She has only been using for 60 days. I tried to reach the makers of this product and Starlight is a Hong Kong based business and almost impossible to reach. I should have listened to all the reviews that basically stated the same thing I am. Do yourself a favor, and do not purchase this or any other product made by Starlight.
After waiting 2 weeks for pickup at our local Wal-Mart, we brought this TV home and plugged it in and all we saw has a a horizontal blue line on the screen, the DVD player wouldn't open either..This was a B-day present to our little girl, and this was a definite birthday bummer
