I purchased this as a gift for my nephew and he won't put it down. Now mind you he has just about all the Transformers, but he loves this one. My brother is constantly telling me how much the kid LOVES his gift! OHHHH and the shipping was super quick!!! Walmart online line is great!!!
I got this toy for my b-day present and I love it! it is very fun to transform and it has cool sound effects. I also got Ironhide but I like optimus a lot more. The tires are real rubber, not that junky plastic stuff used for other transformers.
Overall this is a great product, not really much difference other than color from the original Red and Blue figure. Would have been nice to have something slightly different like the cybertron and galaxy force optimus prime. But a nice look overall with the blue.
As a Transformer action figure, this toy has moderately difficult transformation, which makes it fun for older buyers. It would be a fine item for younger consumers, but parents should use caution and judgement based on the toy's age recomendation. As a long time Transformers fan and collector, I enjoy this item for two reasons. The first reason is that the original Optimus Prime Movie Leader figure no longer appears in stores, so for shoppers who missed the toy during its original release, they can have a second chance with this item. My second appreciation for this Nightwatch Optimus figure is that the color scheme is similar to another Transformer character, Ultra Magnus. This is pleasing because most versions of the Ultra Magnus toys are just recolors of the Optimus Prime toys. This figure fits nicely with the Optimus/Ultra Magnus trend.
My 8 year old son and I didn't realize how large the truck is once transformed. He also likes the "cool gun." It's going on a month now and he still can't put it down. He used money he received for his 8th birthday to purchase the Nightwatch Optimus Prime. I'm very sceptical when it comes to him spending his own money. Because this turned out to be an excellent purchase for him, I would let him do it all over again.
Honestly, I think this figure has a transformation that's a bit too complicated for a toy. I definitely recommend it for teenagers and older, but it's not for little kids. As for me, I just keep it in the robot form on my desk. It looks great! I actually prefer this paint job to the regular one. This reminds me of Ultra Magnus! I recommend it.
My son got this with Megatron from the Easter Bunny. The price on the two pack saved a little money. He has a good guy and a bad guy to play with. He loves all the Transformer toys. My son also has the Ultimate BumbleBee. Yes, it is time consuming but not as bad as most people say.
I ordered this product site to store. It took a month for it to get there, which was really disappointing. Usually site to store only takes a week or so. My son loves it but unfortunately can't transform it by himself so I usually end up transforming it. It is worth it though because it is definitely his favorite toy. The worst part was just the waiting for it to get here.
Its cool my 5 year old likes it, but he needs help to transform it. I also thought it would be more animated, it just pops its head out thats it. The discription made me think it did more than that.
I bought this for sons fourth birthday. I know it is too complicated for him at this age, but I figured I would be able to figure it out. NO. Other than that, my son loves it. It is just a tad bit complicated. When my husband comes home in a month, maybe he'll be able to figure it out!
