Great summer shoe. I love how flexible the sole is and it has such a wide toe box.
I have been buying Merrell Bare Steps H20 shoes for kids for YEARS! They are every mothers dream summer shoes for their little kids. They wear them at the beach (even in the water) at my house because I have a huge cement in ground pool with hot concrete around it, & it gets very hot from the sun. They wear them to the park, to walk the dog, to Target for more toys,....anywhere!!!!! The best part is if they get wet they dry in minutes, They don't fade in chlorine or from the sun. They are easy for kids to put on themselves, they wash well, & the very best thing about them are "THEY ARE COMFORTABLE!!!! All the kids Love them. My grandson won't wear any other shoe! We tried Other brands of water sandals, gym shoes & he knows the difference. When my son moved back to Chicago from California last sept we must of bought 10 pairs of shoes. He would not walk in any of them! HE said they all hurt & cried! They had to get thick wool socks on him to keep his feet warm outside this winter.. So for Easter I bought every size & color I could get my hands on, to get them through this summer. He will be a size 10 by July. I don;t know what their going to do after because MERRELL doesn't make them larger. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE consider making them for bigger kids/teens or at least until we get him off to collage...!?
My 2 year old and I love these! She has some balance and walking difficulties, and these shoes give her excellent support and flexibility while also being light weight for summer/water wear. They have a flexible but supportive sole and a nice heel cup. Very adjustable fit for her narrow feet, and no blisters or issues wearing them working socks. She can also put them on/off by herself which she loves. I bought these specifically for water wear, but I suspect she will wear them as her primary shoes all summer.
We got a pair of the blue and orange ones in a Stitch Fix box. My son wore them nonstop and won't wear anything other kind of shoe. We were able to compromise and get him to wear another color, thanks to the availability on this website. They're so durable outside of water and easy to clean.
Our two year old wore them to the pool and beach while on vacation. They were perfect and he can now slip them on when he goes outside to play. Perfect shoes!
This is the perfect summer water shoe for little feet! We took ours to the Saco River in New Hamphire that's full of slippery rocks and sand and his footing was great! They have excellent traction and dried overnights!
My daughter loves these shoes. They immediately improved her walking, balance and coordination moving through all types of uneven surfaces. I will be purchasing only barefoot shoes for her moving forward. I cannot recommend these enough. Thanks for making them people of Merrel!
This shoe is perfect for all our spring and summer adventures. Lightweight but with a sturdy toe. Adjustable Velcro closure makes them easy on and off. The toe opening is good for kids with wide feet. I bought two pair for when one gets wet. But they dry quickly.
I find it utterly baffling that merrell doesn't make baresteps shoes past size little kids 10. I first purchased these 3-4 years ago for my now 8 year in size 10 and they were too small much to my disappointment. They are well made, flexible soles , wide toe box for a natural foot shape, easy to put on. Literally everything you look for in kids shoes. I just bought a pair in size 6 for my 17 month old and they immediately become his favorite over his soft sole moccasins. I think the sizing should be expanded to at least big kids size 2 if not size 4. That said I've been waiting years for that to happen to no avail so don't hold your breath!
My son has very wide feet and doesn't fit in regular sized shoes. We got these in wides and they are perfect. Also, they must be comfortable because he loves wearing them. We got some other summer sandals from another store and he does not like to wear them nearly as much as these.
