This is a beautiful cabinet, perfect for laptops. The piece is well constructed and sturdy. I would recommend it for anyone who is concerned with space and neatness. The cabinet keeps everything out of sight, so you can even have it in your dining room. However, Staples has the same product at about $30 cheaper.
My husband and I recently purchased this product to replace a larger desk. We were able to get everything into it that we had in our much larger desk. Although there were a lot of steps to assemble the armoire, it was easy enough to assemble it. We would definitely purchase this product again.
This was the perfect cabinet for my needs. I was looking for a cabinet to house my laptop and other supplies but only had a limited space for it in a hallway. This proved to be the solution for me. It was the perfect height and the perfect width. And with the doors in the front I can put everything in it and close the doors and no one is the wiser. We were able to assemble it in about an hour and a half. Instructions were easy to follow. I am sure we will have this cabinet for many years.
Needed a hutch to store all the family laptops - this was the only thing I could find reasonably priced that looked like it would work. I was pleasantly surprised with every aspect of this cabinet; the finish was better than expected, the pieces went together perfectly, the shelves are perfect for storing multiple laptops and their cases, the bottom shelf is big enough for a printer, and the unit itself looks very classy. I have purchased Sauder stuff for years, and their fit and finish is just about perfect now. Please note that as other reviewers have said, you must have room to open the doors ALL THE WAY if you intend to use the pull-out keyboard shelf. Very impressed - would buy it again in a heartbeat!
No surprises - everything was in the box, the instructions were clear, and nothing was damaged. We had read earlier reviews, so knew to expect that it was fairly dark in color and that to have the shelf for the laptop pulled out, both doors must be completely opened (spread out to both sides). One thing we didn't anticipate is that the laptop shelf wiggles a bit, tending to try to go back into the cabinet. My husband took a piece of styrofoam from the packing box, cut it to the proper length and cut a wedge into it, and he places it between the back of the shelf and the back of the armoire to stabilize the shelf while he's working. It works fine that way. It's nice to be able to get the laptop, computer, and papers/supplies out of sight into a relatively small area with so little effort !
I needed a place to store and use my printer that was not a desk. This cabinet looks great in my library. I use it for office supply storage as well as a place to keep my printer. It goes well with my other furniture without making my room look like an office. My only disappointment was I had planned on not installing the top shelf to better access my printer. However that shelf is part of the foundational design and cannot be discarded. I made it work anyway.
Directions were very good. All parts were there and easily shown in directions. Took about an hour to assemble with just a couple of tools.
As with any furniture of this nature, it looked better in the picture, but it was still pretty good quality. The directions were a little confusing at times just because the pieces weren't all clearly labled and the diagrams didn't always show the best angle to understand what they were telling us to do. The directions stop before they tell you to put on the second door and guess what, they didn't give us all the screws we needed to put it on anyway. I've been trying to find the right kind, but haven't seen them at any place near me. Also, a couple of the fasteners they sent were broken. I'd say they have poor quality control wherever they pack the boxes for shipment.
We ordered this product to keep our laptop in and to basically be able to condense our 'home office' into it. It was pretty easy to put together. The main problem we found is that the doors need to be opened all the way before you can pull the drawer out that the laptop sits on. It really needs almost double the width listed to be able to function. So if you don't have the extra room for the doors to be fully opened when you are using it, I wouldn't recommend this product.
