These Lalaloopsy Dolls are the cutest little dolls.
My five year old daughter and I love the Lalaloopsy dolls. My daughter has never been a lover of dolls, but she has gone crazy over these particular dolls. Lalaloopsy dolls are a modern twist on the old rag dolls and each come with a story of what they were sewn together with. Dot Starlight was sewn from pieces of an astronauts uniform and she loves gazing out at the stars. They are not a soft doll. Their heads and body are a hard plastic and their legs are a bendable plastic. Their heads are large and quite heavy and bobble like a rag doll would. I like that they are easy to clean.
This doll was a lot bigger than I expected it to be. I'm glad that they're available online, but I was disappointed that it was not available in stores. I see plenty of Caucasian Lalaloopsy dolls, but I couldn't find the black one so I had to order it online.
I ordered this for my 3 yo daughter for Xmas. I had it Shipped to Site and it arrived within 4 days. The packaging is sooo cute!! The doll herself is super cute! My daughter has been asking non-stop since seeing the commercial if she could have a la-la-lucy doll. I told her Santa was going to bring... every night before bed, she confirms with me that Santa is still going to bring it! Xmas 2010 will be a hit for her!!
my daughter loves these rag dolls! they're actually made of plastic so they last for ever, very sturdy, cuddly, cute and fun!
My daughter has fallen in love with Lalaloopsy's and just had to have them for Christmas. I looked them up online and noticed as with many toys that the number of African American dolls was limited. Among them was Dot Starlight. By far she was the most beautiful so I set out to purchase her. Unfortunately she was sold out everywhere (even Walmart). Maybe a week before Christmas I was searching the sight and ran acroos her for $20 . I immediately purchased her and have been happier since.
We just bought our Dot Starlight doll. Very cute! I'm glad there is at least one Lalaloopsy doll with dark skin, but I wish she had pink or blue hair instead of yellow. She is very cute and we like her dress. My only complaint is that the red tulle on her dress is unraveling all over the place already, and we've only had her one day. She is also very top heavy, and the way they package it leaves plastic on the top of head. These dolls are cute, but you have to know your child. They are not "cuddly" and don't make good bedtime dolls, so if that's your objective you may want something else. I would pay attention to the age range. My 2 year old daughter loves dolls, but she prefers babies with the soft bodies that she can cuddle. She likes Dot so far, but she seems to prefer her softer dolls. I think she will enjoy her more when she is older, like at age 4 as the manufacturer suggests.
