Fantastic. It looks great in the kitchen plus it works super.
Our old unit was a downdraft which frequently left us with a smoke filled room. The new Broan leaves our kitchen entirely smoke free. Plus, it looks good and provides excellent lighting over the cooktop.
This is my second Broan vent a hood. I purchased it because I liked the first one so well. This one is even better! It is even more quiet. I like its simple design which makes for easy cleaning. The screens are removable and washable in the dishwasher. The control panel is simple and the lights are bright, and centered well. They illuminate the work space well.
I can't say enough good things about the Broan Elite 600. It is very effective in pulling out smoke, heat, and odors. The unit is very quiet when used on the lowest two settings. The third highest setting is a little louder but not disruptive in any way. In fact, I use this setting (3rd) most frequently. The highest setting is quite loud -- but extremely effective in moving the air/exhaust out of the kitchen. The unit comes with some nice features. I like the memory feature on the exhaust setting. As mentioned above, I use the third setting most often and with one touch of the "on" button it's just where I want it. I also like to adjustable light dimming feature. It provides plenty of light for cooking. The sleek design is very handsome and easy to clean. In our case, the Broan unit has solved an annoying problem. Our EXTREMELY sensitive smoke detector used to go off from time to time when cooking. Our old unit just couldn't keep up with demand. That issue is a thing of the past with our new Broan. No more alarms going off in the middle of cooking. No more scrambling to open doors and windows! It's such a pleasure to be rid of that annoyance. I'm very pleased with our purchase.
I did not have a stove hood prior to this one, so had to hire an electrician to mount and wire in this unit on a dedicated circuit, and he coordinated with a heating a/c outfit to duct and vent it out through a kitchen cupboard over the stove and up through the attic into an existing roof vent. My installation was probably more complicated than most since I did not have a previously installed stove hood. I researched stove hood reviews very thoroughly, and Broan units had mostly 5 star reviews which beat all other units hands down. I wanted a stove hood that was attractive, efficient and quiet, and this hood fits that bill. I am very happy with the purchase and it was well worth the price paid. No more lingering odors!
Slim size and quieter than other exhausts are the pluses. So far, no minuses.
The product is effective for removing smoke and odor. I like that the light is bright, even at the lowest setting. The noise level is too high.
Product came in damaged but I was able to repair without the hassle of returning the product. Very effective in pulling smoke and odors out but is quite loud on the higher settings. The light feature is very nice and I like the dimming/shut off. would be nice if the outer seams were welded.
Washed filters in dishwasher with non-phosphate detergent. Came out so discolored that they look like they've been in a fire. Very unattractive. Poor advertisement for Broan.
