I ABSOLUTELY LOVE love love my Instant pot!! When a friend of mine told me to purchase one last year, I told her "I don't need another appliance to take up space in my kitchen". She assured me that if I bought one, it would quickly replace EVERY other counter appliance I have. She was RIGHT! I use it almost every day and never stop being impressed with the variety of functions and AWESOME meals that come from it! If the food results aren't enough-when my Instant Pot suddenly stopped working recently- I contacted Customer Service and they quickly replaced her!! WOW! Not only wold I buy her again, I have convinced many friends to purchase AND have bought 4 other Instant Pots as gifts!! LOVE it and can NOT live without her!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Such an amazing upgrade from the original Instapot. I use it for everything! What's better with this upgrade is that it cooks much faster. It also has a much sleeker display with more settings. The main thing I love is the steam release! No more worrying about burning my hands if I don't move them fast enough. Also it's not loud anymore when the steam releases. If looking for sizes this 6 quart is the perfect size for a family of 4. I can easily cook about 5 lbs of meat and still have a bit of room. You really can't go wrong with this new device.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I own 2 other instant pots and this one is by far my favorite. I love how the steam area has a protective cap on it. I love the screen and how it tells you exactly where it is at in the cooking process. I like how there are a lot of presets. My favorite is the sous vide function. I made a tenderloin steak and it turned out wonderful and delicious. I love everything about this instant pot and I would highly recommend it.

This Instant Pot is simply amazing. I have a crock pot and have enjoyed using it, but this Instant Pot is so much nicer! I can cook all my favorites in so little time, and I can also use it for all my quart and pint sized pressure canning needs as I take care of my garden bounty. It tends the process for me, leaving me time to take care of other things.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loved my first instant pot that I purchased a couple of years ago but there were a few things about it that bothered me. ALL of these issues were fixed with this new version and is I enjoy my pressure cooker more than ever. First, it cooked a stew perfectly and I didn't get an error message (and have to pressurize all over) because the food stick at the bottom of the pot. That used to happen often with my old instant pot. This version's stainless pot has a new design at the bottom with grooves that seem to distribute the heat more evenly. Next, the sounds cue are more pleasant and less loud. There's also the option to mute all sounds. The screen and knob buttons are also better in my opinion and I really like that they added a progress timeline to have a better idea of the meal's cooking status. Another plus is the bonus seal. They recommend using one for savory meals and the other for sweet dishes. It makes a lot of sense since the seals absorbs odors over time, even with careful cleaning. Lastly, the steam release is MUCH quieter with this model which I appreciate. I'm thrilled with all of the improvements they made on this unit and I will enjoy using my instant pot so much more.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted to get pressure cooker because I'm not really good cook and I saw that with this you can easily prepare awesome meals for whole family. I have 3 kids so food is always big part of the day. The kids eat a lot and I needed something where I can prepare quick healthy meals. So this pressure cooker looked like best idea. And yes I have already tried beef stew in it and it was great! The cooker is well made from quality material. There are a lot of options how to prepare your food. Instructions are included and it's easy to operate. It's quiet when it's cooking and looks modern. It is great addition to my kitchen and it's big enough to prepare meal for family of 5. I'm very happy with this cooker. I would definitely recommend this for someone who likes to prepare easy and healthy meals for whole family.

I made Chicken soup last night just by sautéing carrots, celery and onions (IN THE INSANT POT!) then adding a WHOLE chicken. It cooked in 20 minutes! So easy and only 1 pot to clean. I love this thing!

Easy to Use and Versatile

Reviewed in the USA on 2022-07-08T17:00:00

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our first Instant Pot… the 6QT Duo Plus Multi-Use Pressure Cooker with WhisperQuiet Steam Release. And my wife and I were both impressed, especially since it allowed me, the one who does primarily does the grilling in the house, to do the “cooking,” for once. In the box you get the Instant Pot housing and lid, a removable 18/8 stainless steel cooking pot, an extra silicone lid gasket, in red (a clear gasket is already installed in the lid), a stainless steel steam rack, and various pieces of paperwork (including a get started guide and information on how to download the Instant app). I'm not a cook. I grill (and really, I only heat the food that my wife is kind enough to marinate a prep for me). So, fellow non-cookers (and cookers, alike), trust me when I say that if I can use this thing… so can you. Steps were super simple. Wash all washable parts (really the cooking pot, and a wipe-down of the inside of the lid). Download the Instant app from your favorite app store (or look online, as there's a ton of Instant Pot recipes out there) – I downloaded the app and found a shredded chicken recipe that was ridiculously simple. Gather your ingredients (in this case 6 large chicken breasts (I doubled the app recipe), chicken broth, sea salt, and a bottle of buffalo chicken wing sauce). Prep your food (in this case wash and trim the chicken breasts)). Plug in the Instant Pot. Put the bowl in the Instant Pot housing. Follow the step-by-step app instructions, which boiled down to: place the ingredients in the bowl, place the lid on the housing, lock the lid in place, close the steam valve, choose the correct setting on the easy-to-read and -use display (or customize as needed, which I had to), press start, and wait (ensuring to follow the cues on the display). Display cues were simple. The display tells you (via a progress bar and word cues) when the unit is preheating (which was actually the longest part of the cook). It tells you when the lid is under pressure (and subsequently not to open the lid). It tells you when the cook is done, when you should open the steam valve (if applicable), and when it's safe to open the lid. The hardest part of this process was a) figuring out how to set a customizable time (vs. using the button presets, as the recipe I used called for a 15-minute chicken cook, vs. the built-in 10-minute chicken setting) and b) shredding the chicken when it was done. FWIW, having never used an Instant Pot before (and not being an avid instruction reader), all you have to do to access customizations is press and hold the silver control knob. When you do, you can change the cook time. I think I'll have to read the instructions for once, as this thing is supposed to have “25 customizable smart programs with step-by-step instructions [that] make recipes simple.” With the “hard part” (i.e., how to set a customized time) figured out, when the cook was done, all that I had to do was empty the condensation collector on the back of the housing (there wasn't much water in the container), wipe down the nearly-spotless inside lid and seal, clean the stainless steel pot (which took all of two minutes), and let all pieces air dry. From prep to preheat (not counting the time that it took me to figure out how to customize the cook time, which was my fault due to being stubborn), from preheat to chicken shredding, from shredding to mixing in the wing sauce, from mixing in the wing sauce to serving the shredded chicken with some oven-baked fries, which baked while the chicken cooked, I had dinner on the table in 40 minutes. And, the family loved it. The chicken was juicy and tender… perfect. With my experience out of the way, what I'll say is that this unit has the potential to replace a lot of appliances from what I can gather. The Instant app allows you to search and save favorite recipes. It lets you pick the ingredients you have on hand/plan to use and build a cook session around those ingredients. The unit has a “set it and forget it” approach with a “keep warm” function built in so that the food is warm and ready when you/family and friends are. The built-in steamer housing is quiet while the food cooks (no whistling) and the housing vents (when needed) direct the steam away from you (so no sweaty face). The lid-lock action is smooth (you don't have to fight the lid to lock or unlock it) and the lid stays firmly locked until pressure is fully released. As far as what this thing can do, it's supposed to be able to (and can, based on my recent experience) pressure cook. It's supposed to be able to slow cook, cook rice, steam, sauté, make yogurt, cook “sous vide” (I had to look that one up… basically cook vacuum sealed food in a precise-temp water bath), bake cake, and keep food warm. Some other notes based on my online research… the lid and cooking pot are dishwasher-safe, the bowl is supposed to stay in place while stirring/sauteing (I can tell you that the housing has inner grips that keep the bowl from moving while it's in the housing), it has “11+ proven safety features, including Overheat Protection and safe locking lid,” is BPA/PFOA/PTFE-free, is rated at 1000 watts, uses a 120 V~ 60 Hz (a standard wall outlet), and is UL & ULC Listed. The unit is large. We have a small kitchen with limited countertop space. So, at 13.43'' length, 13.35'' wide, and 12.76'' height, it won't have a permanent home on our countertop. At 12.3 lbs it's also not a light unit. While I had no problems wielding it, some might. But, the heft only serves to reinforce the unit's build quality. And, FWIW, the Instant Pot is built wall and is aesthetically pleasing. If we had the countertop space, we wouldn't hesitate leaving the unit out. My wife commented on how nice the pot looked (in gray and brushed steel, vs. the black and brushed steel/polished steel that we saw on other Instant Pots in stores). Regarding the stainless steel steaming rack, I can't speak to durability, but (although much smaller) it reminds me a lot of the build quality of the standard steaming racks that we use to support the jars that my wife uses for canning and making jams. So, is the Instant Pot Duo Plus worth buying? Based on my experience (with my first real indoor meal under my belt), heck yes. It's a solid four-star rating (which is great in my book, as it does exactly what manufactures say it will do – five stars goes above and beyond what a manufacturer says a product will do, so I hand out very few five stars). The Instant Pot Duo Plus was easy to set up, easy to use (after I figured out how to customize the time), easy to clean… and, most importantly, the final results of the shredded chicken recipe was a family pleaser. What more can you ask for? Will I use it again? Even though my role in the family for 20 years has primarily been grilling (with the occasional round of spaghetti thrown in)… it's likely, as there's a slow-cook meatloaf recipe in the app that I wouldn't mind giving a try. My wife, on the other hand, said that she's excited to try all the functions and a few of the recipes that the Instant Pot/app offers. With that in mind, cookers and non-cookers alike, I definitely recommend giving the Instant Pot Duo Plus a try. With how easy this thing is to use and given how versatile it seems to be, I don't think you'll regret the purchase.

Arrived with the handle broken from the 'pot' & cracked. The box was undamaged & the handle wasn;t in the box. It would appear I was sent a broken return that they just put in a new box. (I'm surprised they asked for a rating)

Disappointed in Wal-Mart online purchase practices

I placed an order for an Instant Pot Duo Plus 2 weeks ago and was charged for the item. The item was for my daughter in another state. When I received the tracking information, they order had the correct shipping address and instructions to leave at the front door, but the item was delayed with no explanation. I contacted support through the Chat service on Wednesday 11-1 and was told the item would supposed to be delivered Wednesday 11-1, but was delayed until Friday 11-3 by 8:00pm that night. On Saturday 11-4, the item was not delivered. I checked the status of the order and requested to be updated by email when the item was shipped and the tracking information would be correct. Today, Wednesday 11-8, I received an email that my order was cancelled and I would be receiving a refund. This is absolutely the worse experience I have ever had purchasing anything on-line. I wonder if this is just a ploy to charge customers for their purchases, hold on to their money for a couple weeks, and then say they will refund their purchase. I wonder how long it will take for me to actually get my money back. I will NEVER purchase anything online from Wal-Mart again and make sure I strictly use AMAZON for all my online purchases.
