I've spent 10 nights in it so far and am pretty happy. Wind and rain aren't much of a problem. It gets quicker every time I set it up - 8 minutes start to finish is the quickest so far. 12 minutes to pack it back up. I leave my bag and pillows in it which is nice. Downsides - the mattress is awful. I'm going to try a mattress topper for it because there isn't much give to this thing. It's rock hard. Maybe it will break in? Fingers crossed. The only other downside is waiting for it to dry. I've been closing it wet because in the woods where I camped there isn't much sun. So I drove to the beach and popped it open to dry. Not a huge deal - everything gets wet where I camp in Michigan's Upper Peninsula (along Lake Michigan). Oh, get a brush to get the sand off the ladder before you fold it up.
The Good: - excellent insulation qualities (especially when the extra rain fly is on) - comfortable/quality design - plenty of windows/openings (fully functional bug netting) - space is good -- comfortable fit 2 people + gear or squeeze three adults - bedding is comfortable and the tent/floor is easy to clean out The Bad: - takes absolutely forever to set up (I've set up my tent maybe 15 times and have the set-up/take-down to ~20 minutes from start to finish) - difficult to set up the window awning unless you physically get out on the roof of the car (at least in my experience with the FJ roof) - pretty heavy/large RTT (roof top tent), even when packed up -- creates a significant amount of drag but no wind-whistle to my knowledge Closing thoughts: Overall this is a well-built RTT that I think is perfect for Spring-Fall camping. I've used it in the desert, alpine, forests, and beach -- have been comfortable through rain storms, light hail, and strong winds (30mph+). There are plenty of features that allow for the regulation of temperature (e.g. windows + awning zippers). If you want to be able to quickly arrive at campsite, set up your shelter and perhaps plan to leave in the morning -- this may not be the RTT for you... there are more mobile/simple setup options available. Other than that, no complaints.
Purchased a month ago. It is easy to install and Made with quality materials. Easy to setup and seems solid with good fitting cover. After using on a long trip, the mat is not comfortable at all. Very hard on the back and side. The tent does not do well in winds. It was a consistent 10 mph wind and it was terrible. I had a competitors tent that was much better and a lot more comfortable. If I could get my money back I would.
