long, but good!
This movie was one of Tarantino's best! Exceptional performances by both Jaime Fox and Christoph Waltz.
Django Unchained in my humble opinion is the best Quentin Tarantino movie he has ever dreamed up, and there have been some great ones in the past. This movie features Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington, and a great performance by Samuel L. Jackson. The movie is deceptive from what you see from the trailers. Django Unchained looks like your run of the mill revenge film, which it is, but its more. This movie is also about friendship (Foxx and Wentz) and lost love (Foxx and Washington). The movie features an outstanding soundtrack and the literary language used in the film is perfect. The supporting cast is great as well, which is to be expected from a Tarantino movie. I actually paused this review to watch a little of the movie while writing this review, this is how much I like the movie. I think you will love this movie and I would definitely recommend it.
If you or someone you know likes this movie then this is great! Comes in a nice container, definitely gift quality. Looks much more expensive than it is. Great buy!
Django Unchained was a disappointment. Coming from Quentin Tarantino I knew what to expect i.e., absurd behavior and abundant indelicate language. In these two areas Quentin exceeded my expectations. However, Quentin's "absurd" has lost originality and entertainment impact by long overuse. The plot was trite and acting was less than stellar. For example, Jamie Foxx, for the most part, gave me the impression nobody was home for 160 minutes. Overall, Django Unchained caused me mental and physical discomfort. I could not wait for the movie to end. Enough already! Also, please Quentin, no more Western movies.
