This thing is the bomb for feeding my goldfish. I have been testing it since I got it a few days ago to make sure it works alright and gives suitable food portions and so far its AWESOME! It feeds every 12 hours and its design ensures the food won't get humid or damp. Portion amounts are adjustable too! Still figuring out how many days it will feed before the food chamber is empty but I'm estimating a week at max portion. Can easily adjust to a smaller portions for extended vacation. Gone are the days of those gross jelly vacation food pucks! This system is well worth the moderate investment!
It is rotating every 12 hours. It uses double A. You can adjust how much you wanna give your fish. I use flakes and It works perfectly. I don't worry leaving my fish for 2 weeks.
I left for a month and came back to see my fish chubby and happy! No one died or was sick, Also love it came with some food!
I bought this about 11 months ago and this works but it's expensive and does not come with batteries but other than that it's okay
I bought 2 these for my tanks and as I was going on holiday and had someone watching my place and when I came home I came home to dead fish..my daughter was devasated ...it way over fed them and polluted the tank with rotting food..I will never purchase another nutrifin product again
Poorly designed- there is no on/off switch, you cannot control the amount of food dispensed or when it is dispensed. It dispenses way too much food. The timing is regulated by the insertion of the batteries. If you put the batteries in at 2pm, the food will be dispensed at 2pm and 2am. I threw it out after using it for one weekend.
I got this automatic fish feeder right before our planned long weekend getaway and had only few days to test it. It appeared to work fine. However, when we came back all the food was stil in the product. I decided to test it again and noticed all the flakes were stuck together and stuck to the plastic drum wall. Food held in the same spot during rotation of a dispenser and didn't freely fall out to be dispensed. Fish got no food for three days but survived. Product is unreliable! Additionally, I had to fill the dispenser through the tiny little window since the drum would not come off the dispenser. Very hard to adjust the amount to be fed to the fish.
